Honestly, I feel sick - I want to burn the sheets, the mattress, the bed and bleach the whole room.

IL's were staying they had our bed. We have just gone to change sheets with DH and found little tiny brown balls of ????? in the bottom area of the bed side whe FIL slept.

DH gathered the sheets around them when he saw them to prevent them from spilling and they are currently waiting to go in the machine.

The sheets will be washed entirely on thier own on a hot wash - at the risk of perishing the elastic, I would throw them away but we only have 2 bedding sets and can't really afford to buy a new one at the moment

IL's are not old or infirm, but FIL had a rotten stomach when he was here (or maybe it was normal but not a 'man smell' I am used to) but he stunk out the bathroom whenever he used it and then entire top floor when getting up and going to bed.

This is the first time they have stayed over with us in over 2 years and while I want to encourage interaction with our DC's I am not prepared to have my house made in to a smelly sh*t hole!

This is not a joke post BTW

cocolepew · 27/07/2008 19:54

You might want to buy a poosheild for their next visit

Slubberdegullion · 27/07/2008 20:05

Lowfat your description of your FIL at 11:22:46 does make me suspect that these were indeed Dangle Berries and not muffin crumbs.

Thank goodness you only see them every 2 years...

mind you goodness only knows what he'll do to your sheets given another 2 years of filthy, rancid, feral behaviour.

StealthPolarBear · 27/07/2008 20:06

Thanks for such a great laugh!
Lol at link explaining dangle berries
This is definitely a classic thread in the making.

Spidermama · 27/07/2008 21:51

I read it expat. TBH it says more to me about Lowfat than her poor ol' gimmer FIL. She obviously dislikes him and seems to spend an awful lot of time watching him, hovering over to observe the tiniest details of his personal behaviour. I honestly woudln't even notice a man picking his nails with his keys. And to assert that he's 'dropping the contents on the floor'. PMSL!

Sorry Lowfat but it has to be said. You are being anal, intolerant and unfriendly to your childrens grandfather. Try seeing the good in him. It'll be nicer for all concerned.

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/07/2008 22:01

That is bloody disgusting...there is no excuse for his behaviour and imo, low fat is justified in all her comments!! He sounds awful!!!

ButterflyMcQueen · 27/07/2008 22:03

i have never experienced poo crumbs

Tallie11 · 27/07/2008 22:03

partaria · 28/07/2008 22:56

Spidermama if you spend a fair bit of time with someone surely you'll begin to notice their ahem personal habits at least somewhat ? My mil has some choice activities she doesn't mind sharing with an audience; including picking at her feet in the living room then handing round the peanuts "err, no thanks ". When she stayed last time she'd made up her bed immaculately as usual (but what's the point, i'm going to wash the sheets, yes ?)but there were bogy wipes all over the top bit of sheet near the pillow case. And I mean "wipes" because they were all in a careful pattern as opposed to rendom streaks that you might (just) expect if someone has a cold and can't find a tissue.

My theory about op's fil is that he wasn't too tidy about wiping his arse and bits of tissue have been stained and retained...

Apologies as have not read entire thread. But did you test the winnets?

LittleBella · 28/07/2008 23:05

I've reluctantly got drawn into this thread. It sounds a bit as if your FIL is poo-ing pellets. Could he have some rabbit-blood in him? Are your DC's particularly jumpy? do they have an inordinate fondness for carrots and larger than average teeth?

The more I read mumsnet the more I realise how bloody wierd so many people are.
