To be bloody delighted MAGA is dying

Just that really! 🥂

(for the record I’m not ultra left, would probably be a moderate Republican in the USA, but I cannot STAND the bully boys in MAGA and their hideous lack of accountability)

Delighted for the USA and it’s such a tonic to see everyone celebrating.

Why? I think James talerico is a brilliant candidate and I'm glad he was voted in I think he will be good for Texas. Well due a change from the criminal Paxton.

I didn't say it was a bad thing. I'm just shocked. It's been about thirty years since Texas was blue.

I've been getting political smear mail about James "Talefreako" for weeks. Very underhanded.

It’s not great over here, but I can’t help feeling it’s a question of choose your poison with regard to either party in the US.

The Democrats were a shambles before the last election and Biden refusing to let go of the reins until he was forced to, did a huge amount of damage to their campaign and credibility, allowing Trump in.

Both parties are so polarised, each heading further Right or Left, it’s quite scary.
Looks like Tytler’s predictions all those years ago, that civilisations rise and fall cyclically, might have some basis in fact.

Because that person will need to make a lot of tracks to become President in two years time. This is a win based on gas price in the here and now.

That’s your opinion. It’s an opinion that ignores the murders of innocent Americans on the streets, an illegal war, that an enormous number of Americans are in medical debt because they don’t have health insurance, they can’t pay their mortgages or buy groceries, and the president is in bed with Russia.

It also ignores the talent and hard work of the Democratic candidates that just swept the midterms. You can be as cynical as you want but this historic win, which sees Georgia run by Black women is about a hell of a lot more than gas prices.

Playmoemily · Yesterday 19:56

The US it seems is in the same boat as the UK with a new leader in the hot seat each term resulting in no real asserted long term government to actually deliver their manifesto.

Just what the democrats did 2 years ago?

It's the same cycle, the same people, the same arguments. USA is tearing itself apart because of attitudes like this, the polarisation.

It's perfectly possible to enjoy watching the MAGA cult immolate itself without giving a hoot about what the Dems are or what they did 2 years ago.

America will be in such a mess when the democrats gain control. They have behaved appallingly and been throwing tantrums for years now.

Because the GOP have things in such good order currently...

The Democrats throw tantrums? You think Trump doesn’t? 🤣

I saw a video earlier that said American Christians have always been bought up to believe they must always vote Republican despite who is in power because you can’t be a good Christian and vote for gay rights/abortion rights. It made a lot of sense as to why Trump got the amount of votes he’s had in the past, but luckily it seems people are waking up and realising they can still be Christian without having to vote for an orange incontinent moron to drag them into war.

Id rather read opinions of neutral people because the far lefts are unhinged and seem to perpetuate lies and hysteria.

'far left' and it's someone who suggests that maybe people shouldn't go bankrupt due to cancer treatment 😂

Trump's sexism and attitudes to women in general was clear before he even ran in 2016, it's nothing new!

don't forget his many "creepy", okay lets call it as it as

by creepy, I refer to the many sexualised comments made about his adult daughter since around 2005 or so, the majority of them caught on film and often made in her presence, where she is forced to laugh it off out of sheer embarrassment, or perhaps, even more worryingly - normalisation?

yet still a significant portion of the electorate gave it (the orange thing) the thumbs up???

step back and have a think about that and tell me you don't get to the conclusion of "what a very fucked up section of society that is"

DuncinToffee · Yesterday 20:23

FriggadyDiggady · Yesterday 19:04

That's really encouraging if true. Not surprising as Trump was surprising woke in his first term, and only revealed his sexism in his second. Source pls.

Edited

He made the 'grab them by the pussy' comment in 2005, the recording was made public in 2016.

Surprisingly woke Hmm

"Today I Learnt"...

...that some people believe Trump was woke, no, "surprisingly woke", under his first term 😆

Was your TV experiencing regular, extra-terrestrial interference between 2016-2020?

’unhinged’ ‘tantrums’

It’s funny how the words you’re using to describe the Democrats relate far more to Trump.

Please do educate me on the positives to voting in a Republican as I’m really struggling to see why anyone with a brain would.

Your diction is surprisingly, well, some might say, Russian. But, giving the benefit of the doubt, can you elaborate on a few of the specifics of the lies and hysteria, please? Thank you!

I'm aware, I was being sarcastic to indicate that I doubted what @Sometimessmiling was saying.

That was obviously sarcasm, cut the facetious tone.

I note that nobody has provided evidence of women saving the republic yet.

Should be easy to provide an example - boy, you'd make @user001236547 look silly if you did that!

I'd love to be happy but my concern is that the Democrats will squander this opportunity and double down on the woke bollocks that got them annihilated in the first place.

Your view is interesting to me, because I think I can see the opposite. I think/hope that the culture wars are coming to the end, if they're not yet on their death beds, they're not feeling too well.
That's my take on the fact that a Muslim has been elected as has an openly gay person and a black woman as governor. Amongst others.

culture wars, in my view, only serve to divide us. What brings us together is the desire to make life (health care, housing and all the necessities of life) easier to access for us all.

hating on any group has never made the cost of living easier.

Who told you MAGA was dying?

Trump will have his two full terms in office. At the next presidential election, the democrats will again put forward someone brain dead like Kamala Harris or some other fruitcake from the left. JD Vance will be the republican candidate and it will take no more than one slogan to wipe the floor clean with the democrats, like ‘Trump is for you, Kamala is for they/them’.

Democrats cannot seem to be able to find decent candidates. It will take more than this to finish off MAGA.

Without Googling OP, name the leader of the US Democratic Party.

Obviously there isn't one, yet - although I would love to see Jon Ossoff on a regular basis 😳. But whoever gets the poisoned chalice will be hated , so maybe I hope it's someone I don't care for.
