The facts are that young girls are raped everyday - the media only cares when it helps them to sell papers/get clicks and immigrants are the hot topic at the moment.

A couple years ago it was trans men (funny how that’s gone quiet now) and years ago it would have been black men.

There were two young girls with migrants at night in our local city. A man stopped the older girl and asked if she knew the men and she laughed and said they were friends. 4 or 6 (can't remember) foreign men with two girls. The man who stopped the girl asked why, clearly 20-30 year old men, were hanging out with girls who looked 16 and the other closer to 13/14. The girls thought it was funny, the men, one in particular, got aggressive and wanted to fight him for simply asking if the girls knew them.

You're damned if you do, damned if you don't. And I wouldn't trust the police to be quick/to be on my side, if I did try to intervene. Not sure what I'd do in the moment though, I'd like to think my maternal side would kick in but... I'm very aware how useless others/the police can be.

This is a cursory, non exhaustive 10 minute search and only includes men from Afghanistan. This does not include articles on men from Syria, Eritrea, Somalia, Iran, Iraq… I could go on

Using the "racist" card to end discussions doesn't work anymore. Patterns are emerging in the behaviour of men from certain countries. We cannot shy away from this, we need to protect women and girls.

Absolute nonsense. In many of the countries these men come from, women are valued less than animals. While we are letting in men who are accustomed to treating women as such, we shouldn’t be surprised when things like this happen. Treating those who voice concerns as racists increases the threat to women.

It’s so disgusting. I remember being out with my friends when we were all quite clearly underage and they would be approaching us. 😷I had an autistic friend who was 14 at the time and they were trying to lure her to get in their car (this was in broad daylight too!). She’d told them her age. I had their cards marked and told them to fuck clean off.

I’m astonished no one tried to intervene on that train. Seems people are more concerned about defending these peadophiles than the poor child.

Lots of EU nations have great data on per capita and they control for age and gender. Young men from these nations are so much worse than normal European men

I completely agree but this is how grooming goes unnoticed/under prosecuted because the girls (and boys) are ‘choosing’ to be there.

I had similar experiences growing up, as did many of my friends.
I also work with both victims and perpetrators now.
But not much has changed because the girls ‘want’ to be there.

That is how grooming works because it makes the victim feel that they are in control and don’t realise anything is actually wrong.
They want to be there and don’t believe they are being groomed or used.
