I am being unreasonable in think people need to stop being so absorbed on their phones whilst out in public. It seems no one helpped this child whilst she was being raped because they were too busy on their phones.

This thread is about a girl being raped and whether commuters should have got involved - you seem to care more about your agenda or asking questions, than the actual girl and whether this was the bystander effect or people simply didn’t notice etc.

Really? I've never heard of a trans man (a biological woman) raping anyone, but maybe you have data there? You wouldn't, I'm sure, have posted stuff without evidence to back it up, I'm sure - seeing as you're asking other posters for statistics?

You can enter the stat into Google or your AI and find the article, it’s not hard. The title of the Economist article was “Do immigrants from some countries commit more sex crimes?”

We did do that, Jews were stuck on boats because we didn't want that kind of immigration. Same as USA, Canada and Australia. It's part if the reason we now have Isreal.

I'm far from being a Daily Mail reader but I have worked as a massage therapist. I received a lot of calls from men asking for "massage". Ninety percent of those calls were from Muslim men. A lot of them see white women as trash. And the thing is, I don't know why you'd expect anything else from men who've been raised to see women as second class citizens. That's just a fact and nothing to do with racism.

I’m not surprised at all. I have just travelled home from London on a Southeastern train, I am in my mid 60s with a health condition (not obvious), I stood all the journey while a mix of men and women of a range of ethnicities, all younger than me, some half my age, avoided eye contact. On a South Western train I once had to get on to ask someone to give up their seat for my late MIL, who was then aged in her late 80s. At least on South Western they usually have a guard.

Stations are left unstaffed when they are supposed to be staffed and this is often covered up. Even when there was a stabbing when someone was chased off the train at our local station, staff tried to pretend the station had been staffed, but the member of staff had left in the early afternoon. Only because I had passed through the station and seen it unstaffed they were forced to admit it.
