Partner on a business trip and he texted me this...

My partner left for a business trip earlier on today. He knows I'm really struggling at the moment. I've been looking for a job to no avail since January, and I'm feeling pretty shit about myself.

He texted me when he arrived in the country he was going to, that he'd arrived, and that, I quote, 'Im here and the women here are really hot 😍'

Am I being unreasonable to tell him he's being an absolute unfeeling cock. Am I being unreasonable that I told him him that he's really pissed me off and that if they're that hot, he can just go fuck them and fuck himself and fuck off?

His response was: It was a fucking joke, I’m sorry and when the fuck have I ever tried to make you feel insecure or done anything other than try to build you up. You fuck off.

This man is emotionally abusive towards you.

If you don’t give him sex when he wants it he’ll send you texts like he did to tell you that he finds other women attractive and as a reminder that there’s other people out there who could give him sex whenever you don’t and if you have any sort of disagreement he gives you the silent treatment.

This isn’t ok.

You really weren't in the wrong for being pissed off, or for communicating that it was a shitty thing for him to say.
You were in the wrong for telling him to fuck off.

Not saying I don't get why, or that I wouldn't have thought the same but you can't swear one way but have a problem with it the other way.

I'd apologise for saying that, but not for why I reacted so strongly to the comment.

I'm going to apologise for swearing. When he decides to talk to me again.

@GreatPlumBiscuit whats your relationship like otherwise? You seemed very angry initially now you seem upset and spiralling. Is this a healthy relationship usually? How long have you been together, are you married? You say you’re struggling and out of work, is he supporting you there, paying more of the mortgage/bills etc? Basically what I’m asking is, is this unusual behaviour or is he not an especially kind partner?

What a bellend.

What possible reason could he have for sending you that? Its belittling and disrespectful.

Normally I have a fairly male-sympathetic sense of humour but I'm really struggling to justify that one.

I know I used a lot of F words, but my question is: was I wrong to tell him that he was out of order?

He was wrong.
My husband would never say such a thing... and it's not a joke.
