To believe that Parents must have the right to tell their children they are not “in the wrong body” and children cant be “transgender”?

The government wants to bring in a law that threatens anyone including parents with up to five years in prison for denying a child’s or an adult’s “transgender identity” -. The draft Bill is in Committee stage. Labour have committed to making it law. Surely this is just bringing back the Scottish Parliament’s vote that everyone has to agree? That men are women if they say they are? This time parents are in the firing line if they dont agree to their child being “transed” at school or elsewhere? The Bill proposes that the courts should be able to make an order to enforce compliance on parents. Surely this can’t be allowed to go through without a fight?

So you believe in people being forced to live in a body that feels wrong to them? What if they’ve had loads of therapy to feel otherwise and nothing has worked?

People are 'forced' by the laws of nature to live in the body they have. Since we do not (yet) have the technology to transplant live brains into new bodies.

Adults can have various cosmetic surgeries to change the appearance of their body, but they cannot change to a different body.

It is not possible to change the sex of your body.

Many of the prominent movement (men) behind trans ideology are proven sex abusers and paedophiles.

Just look at substack, where they have all been very carefully listed, with evidence - charges.

The Bin The Bill Campaign Group were planning to have a Day of Action tomorrow, leafleting and talking to people in various locations in England and Wales.

Most of the "Street Actions" have been scuppered by adverse weather conditions so we are encouraging everyone concerned about the Draft Bill to do some "Desktop Activism" indoors instead 🙏

‘Transition’ is not really a realistic concept. No one transitions into the opposite sex as it is impossible.

Some people choose to use drugs and surgery to cosmetically alter their bodies. It causes long term harm to health. In my opinion no so called ‘gender affirming’ procedures should be available on the NHS and any private providers should be forced to provide free aftercare to deal with the sometimes life altering consequences of these procedures. The bar to receive this kind of medical intervention should be extremely high.

Yes and I dislike the use of the term 'social transition', especially the way it is applied to children in school: automatic deployment when a child wants to change name. Who decided that?

From the Gay Men's Network response, linked above:

Conclusion

  1. Criminal statutes are serious pieces of legislation with profound effects. They should not be a vehicle for ideological point scoring, and they should not be on the statute books where they risk over criminalisation, serious interference with family life and the chilling of free speech.

  2. There is no cogent evidence that conversion practices are widespread or a pressing issue in this country. Such surveys and statistics as have been cited are dubious and produced by self-serving actors with ideological prejudices. Even if they were widespread, it is unclear why this statute, with its relatively low maximum sentence of five years, would be a better prosecutorial response than offences that apply to everyone and carry higher maximum sentences. Gay men and lesbians are better protected by the law as it stands.

  3. If this legislation passes parents will be arrested and prosecuted for conduct that would normally be considered part of family life. No criminal statute should leave such a legacy.

  4. The wider cause of gay rights is not well served by unnecessary and brutal statutes with poor definitions and no statutory defences. This Bill is an example of ideological overreach; it is not a serious attempt to craft focused, well-targeted criminal law to address an identifiable and clearly defined problem.

They haven't gone into the loosening and damaging of child safeguarding aspects, but that's another area of concern.

It's a bit disingenuous to reference gay mens network who are explicitly gender critical gay men as though they speak for all gay people as a whole without mentioning they are a gender critical organisation.

Same. It relies on other children being asked to change their language.

As are the Lesbian and Gay Alliance (also who have posted a significant response.)

What's your point? If you're under the impression that the explicitly gender ideological LGBT groups speak for all gay people as a whole, they certainly don't. Those two organisations alone kind of prove the point. Their points specifically mention the issues in this bill for gay, lesbian and bisexual kids.

You seem to be suggesting that gay people who are not believers in Gender Identity have become worthless in some way, and shouldn't be listened to?

Thanks Bin, there are a lot of useful resources there! I am going to use your Suggested Letter as a starting point for writing to my MP.
I just didn't know where to start with writing a letter - the whole thing is so overwhelmingly awful. But we've got to try.

Yes two groups specifically set up as GC organisations and against gender identify. I didn't say anywhere their insights and views shouldn't be listened to did I? That's quite a hyperbolic reaction to someone mentioning the context of their organisation, I'm not sure why it's so bothersome to you. I'm just highlighting for anyone reading, since you decided not to mention, the context that they are GC organisations with much less support, members etc than any other gay, lesbian or LGBT groups.

Not just that - but it instructs children to not believe what they see with their own eyes. To lie to themselves and others. Unbelievable.

Why is it relevant that bigger organisations are captured by gender identity ideology? It doesn’t make them right. The points stand regardless of who makes them.

If you disagree with the points, feel free to refute them, rather than do a mealy mouthed appeal to authority @Soupsavior

The LGB speaks for itself, the LGBTQIA+ speaks for itself.

You can plot the shift of opinion within the LGB by the amount of people very specifically identifying themselves as one or the other.

The Gay Mens Network may be gender critical but this does not mean, by a long shot, that it isnt backed by the LGB.

You are, you obviously think it’s important and noteworthy that more LGB people support gender identity focussed organisations because you think that makes their opinions hold more weight. That is an appeal to authority. I can do a diagram maybe?

No it's not babe. I didn't say in my post that any organisation had the right opinion. I simply pointed out that gay mens network are GC which seems to have really ruffled your feathers.

People on discussion forums are able to contribute what they wish. I don't need orders from you about what I can post. If I felt like pointing out they're a GC organisation, I'm allowed to 👍 No idea why you would get so ruffled by that, surely it doesn't change anything right?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/10/2026 18:19

Now whose feathers are ruffled! You can post whatever you want and so can I.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/10/2026 18:21

The Gay Men’s Network are allowed to call themselves such without posting a disclaimer in front of everything they say, because genderist organisations sure as hell don’t.
