Jewish people have to take security very seriously in schools here.

Antisemitism here in the UK is appalling.

I was once a 'Grren' no more due to the hatred Antisemitism in the party.

Jewish students work together at a table at school

Schools should recognise antisemitism as distinct form of harm, review says

The government is expected to accept all 27 recommendations made in the review by ex-Ofsted boss, Sir David Bell.

I mentioned in my previous post that my friend and I used to be neighbours. About 20 or so years ago, I was at her house and the night before there had been a TV programme about Auschwitz. I asked if she’d watched it and she said she didn’t need to. We spoke a bit about that and I’ll always remember her saying that if that happened now I would wake up one morning and there would be two houses either side of mine on our short street which would be empty. We were also friendly with the other Jewish family.

As I was thinking, but we would take you in, we would hide you, we would keep you safe - she looked at me and said, and if you had tried to help us there would be three empty houses.

There is something bizarre going on in that people just don’t or can’t or won’t see the parallels between what is happening now and what happened in the 1930s and 40s. I wonder - did they think that if it happened again the perpetrators would look the same? Are they on the look out for someone who looks like Hitler, for the SS, the Hitler youth, dreams of an Aryan race? Are they so stupid that they don’t recognise evil when all it has done is change its outward appearance?

All these useful idiots on the hate marches - with their scarfs and their flags and their badges! How can they not see it?!

For sure. My ancestors all left Jewish Russia in the 1880s amidst the endless pogrommes. Half went to Poland to be murdered a generation later and half ended up in America. My grandmother spoke Yiddish at home and had stories of running through the non Jewish neighbourhoods after school as the children would throw stones at her. As an adult she wasn’t allowed to join the neighbourhood’s country club - no Jews allowed. This was all before Israel’s creation.

My mum had her stories too. I had pennies thrown at me (better than rocks) and the first time my daughter had a classmate tell her his family wanted her family to die she was 9. A year before October 7th.

The Jews have been expelled from a long list of places. Numbers are confusing as sometimes it was cities or counties or some sort of area that doesn’t exist anymore but it’s certainly a long list any way you count it. Until modern history there were almost always rules about where we could live and how we could work and even sometimes what we could wear. The worst of it pre dates Israel. Today’s excuse is Hamas, yesterday’s was the blood libel, another day’s was the economic failures of a country or the weather or who knows what.

So when you say ‘such a shame your children are frightened because of what Israel is doing in Palestine’ you can replace that with ‘because of the economic collapse of Germany’ or ‘because of the blood you use in the Passover celebration’ or ‘because you read a different book’ and I hear it the same way.

With your permission, Thistle, I will c&p that ready for the next person who crosses my path and claims that antisemitism in the UK is 'because Netanyahu' or 'because Gaza'

The first meeting was about how important it was to stand by the students protesting at graduations as it was a huge EDI issue and we need to support our minority students.
And that is appalling. Graduations are NOT the place for political grandstanding. There was a load of it at one of my DC's graduations recently, and I felt incredibly uncomfortable - and I'm not even Jewish.

Also, people on this thread talking about 'genocide' don't understand urban warfare. It's brutal, it's horrific, the death rate of civilians is horrendous. When Berlin fell at the end of WWII, the fighting lasted about 2 and a half weeks, and over 100,000 civilians died. That is what urban warfare looks like.

If you use the term genocide for urban warfare in Gaza (against a foe embedded amongst civilians and blatantly using civilian infrastructure), what word do you have left for what happened to the Tutsis, or the Armenians, or European Jews, when entire communities were wiped off the map, and the vast majority of the population was killed?

The Nazis were convinced by their cause too, they thought they were in the right, that they were benefitting humanity by ridding the wolrd of the evil Jews. That's why even when they were losing the war, they still put resources and manpower into murdering the Hungarian Jews in 1944.
The Free Palestine cult are convinced that "Zionists" (the cult word for Jews who haven't atoned for their sin of being Jewish) are the enemy of humanity. That's why they dont' see it. THey are 100% convinced they are in the right. Like the Nazis.

The irony of all of this is that it just makes it clear why it is essential that there is a State of Israel, warts and all. At least now, Jews always have somewhere to go when things go tits up. Antisemitism benefits the zionist cause.

Which is how, according to some lunatics, you can 'know' that October 7th was allowed by the Israeli government, and that antisemitic attacks are all 'false flags'.

Yes, though it started the same day - people celebrating in the streets around the world. Weeping with joy about the atrocities committed against Jews.

it was repulsive.

My blonde, blue-eyed sibling was driving into London with their partner on that 7 Oct. They saw celebrations in West London (Acton-ish) and parked up to see what was going on. It was, apparently, a lovely, street party atmosphere. Someone joyfully offered them Turkish Delight.

Then they heard the word Yahud. They calmly returned to their car, still smiling and nodding at the people partying around them. They drove away and turned on the radio.

Sartre · 22/10/2026 10:18

The fact they need what is essentially airport security at Auschwitz tells you all you need to know. Jews are never and have never been safe from hatred.

LuckyHazelFox · 22/10/2026 10:28

None of these awful experiences will make any difference to the but Gaza Genocide brigade. They have been swept up in a cult, whose sole purpose is so entrenched into the hearts and minds of one culture. These idiots think they are doing the right thing because they've been made to think this is a one way street. Yes they will acknowledge 7/10 with a but. You can't reason with them because Free Palestine has been sold as the catchy phrase, when behind it is a simple intention that's got naff all to do with finding a solution for both parties; one party, yes. I'm glad the reality is different away from MN, because many rational people see the common denominator for what it is.

Look at the Russian airport incident in the aftermath of 7/10. That was when the reality should have kicked in. So called anti Israel protestors demanding to see the identity of travellers.

Like Gaza, they'd never heard of the word Zionism before. Now, they are experts on it. They know as much about the ins and outs of Zionism as they do genocide.

EmpressOfTheThread · 22/10/2026 10:54

Plus the rapid co-opting of the term "genocide", very controversial. It's deliberately using a word which describes the Holocaust. It's to undermine the Jewish community and any defence of Israel.

LuckyHazelFox · 22/10/2026 11:09

Zionist dog is one insullt you will hear very often. There's a clue in the one word but the useful idiots won't see it.

SeaToSki · 22/10/2026 12:05

I sadly think this quote is appropriate for these times. The types of people ‘they’ are coming for has changed, except for those who are Jewish, who are still being targeted.

"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

a German theologian and Lutheran pastor. He opposed the Nazi regime during the late 1930s, and was sent to a concentration camp for his affiliation with the Confessing Church and his opposition to state involvement in Church.

That is disgusting. That there were celebrations in the UK, when October 7th attack was heard about is completely ignored or perhaps encouraged the marchers. I avoid people who chant in the streets their slogans, they are cult like in action and beliefs

Niemöller initially supported the Nazis, and it was only when they attacked the Church that he began to oppose them. It took a concentration camp to make him see the extent of his folly and complicity.

People talking about how the hate march lot and people on social media don't see the similarities between the way Hitler manipulated the public abd the pal cause does are missing a simple fact.

Most the people involved think Hitler was right. They do see the similarities but agree with the evil Jews narrative. They think what they are doing is justified and what he did whilst horrible was done because Jewish people needed to be stopped etc

I'm beginning to think this too, given some of the marchers views on Israel. Palestinians can do no wrong. Hamas are Palestinians. They are husbands, fathers, brothers or sons.

I've seen a lot of posters use the term 'useful idiots' and I think this is very apt. You get the outright antisemites who may or may not deny it, depending on whether it is convenient for them, but I think there are also huge numbers of people who are genuinely upset at the accusations they may be antisemitic. They think they're fighting for justice but so completely caught up in conspiracy theories and propaganda that they have no idea they're being massive patsies.
I've been trying to patient with those people when I come across them because I think a lot of them simply don't hear anything outside of their political bubbles. They're always surprised when I disagree, no matter how politely.
But it is increasingly hard because what I really want to say is "Don't be so bloody stupid"
Useful idiots, indeed.

At least twice on the CITME board I've had to correct posters who claim that Israel has ruled Gaza since 1948, and that the Israelis control the Rafah crossing.
Basic ignorance.

Wow. Thats racism right there. Jewish people in Israel killed them, members of the IDF.

I know I’m wasting my time here, but anyway, I’ll say it. Every home in Israel has access to a shelter or safe room. The iron dome is the first only defensive weapon ever created. Thousands of rockets have been fired into densely populated civilian towns in Israel and the only reason it’s not a complete wasteland of rubble and bodies is the iron dome and the availability of safe rooms.
When Hamas did Oct 7 they knew with certainty what Israel’s response would be. So tell me, why did they not permit their civilians to shelter in the hundreds of miles of underground tunnels they built? Why did they not build shelters? Why did they deliberately put civilians in danger rather than protect them?
Israel, Gaza, Ukraine, everywhere.. the government is responsible for civilian safety. If you’re going to start (or restart if you like) a war, then prepare your infrastructure in order to minimise civilian deaths.
Whichever way people are trying to spin all this, they’ll never understand the sheer horror that is Hamas.
I’ve got friends with sons in the IDF. They’re proud that their children are defending Israel and the Jews and ensuring that another Holocaust never happens. Anyone who supports Palestinians should be looking to ousting Hamas and encouraging the PA to step in and do something.
Israel exists. As it should. Every accusation you throw there’s a valid answer, but that won’t matter because we are dealing with DARVO at its very essence.

I’ve never been more of a Zionist in my life and I was born in Israel (to American parents who were only there temporarily so am only technically Israeli). Well it's hardly promoting a peaceful solution, is it? I'd be tempted to ask them if they think the USA has a right to exist, or Pakistan, or Jordan.
