Airbnb, how many towels per person, would you expect to be provided?

I stayed at an Airbnb last weekend with my daughter and we were provided with 1 bath towel for the 2 of us! We let it go as only for 2 nights.

Now I'm in Spain with my DH for a longer period. The flat is lovely, but only 2 bath towels provided! How do hosts expect people to dry their hair when stepping out of a shower! My DH is on the case and is getting 2 hand towels delivered later.

AIBU to expect 2 towels?

I would have no idea what to do with the second towel when I have a perfectly serviceable bath towel which I used for both my hair and body my whole entire life. Do you not have something you do habitually and have done a certain way since you were a child and feel a bit perplexed when people assume you need additional implements to complete the same task?

You bend forward, wrap the towel around the back of your head, bring the ends to the front, cross and twist. This stops your hair dripping all over you and the floor. 🙄

Never owned a bath sheet and I do just fine! I am not a slim guy.

Your comfort would be transformed if you tried one!

I wonder if it would be countered by the stress about washing and drying the massive fuckers!

OriginalSkang · 23/10/2026 15:43

I could literally dry my whole body and hair on a hand towel and not feel any discomfort. I hate the ridiculous pamper culture of multiple towels! Just get out of the shower, dry yourself and move on with your day. It doesn't need multiple towels and taking an hour to dry

nocoolnamesleft · 24/10/2026 14:45

Needing a towel for my hair has fuck all to do with pamper culture and everything to do with waist length hair that holds a fuckton of water.

Pamper culture? Christ, what are these people on. I've been wrapping my hair in a towel since about 1976 when there was certainly no pamper culture.

Its been cringe since then though. Drying your body takes 30 seconds - just do that and then use that towel for your hair. Dont twat around the house for 30 mins wrapped up in a dozen towels and say its necessary!

I don't "twat around the hours for 30 minutes wrapped up in a dozen towels". I wrap 1 towel round my body, towel my hair then wrap my hair, walk to my bedroom, and finish drying. I suspect you unnecessarily run your house hotter than it needs if you're happy standing wet and naked. Which is far more needlessly indulgent than two sodding towels.

How do you get from the bathroom then to your bedroom naked without your family seeing you?

I couldn’t dry one hairy calf in 30 seconds, nevermind my whole body, especially while my long thick hair is dripping water down my back. I’m yet to see anyone claiming to use 12 towels per shower.

Not the point of the thread, but I think having a separate towel for your hair is really twatty

And that's a really twatty thing to say.

I take a hair wrap of my own though, which I would do even if my hair was short.

Floatlikeafeather2 · 24/10/2026 18:34

Tortephant · 21/10/2026 10:18

A separate hair towel? Wow. Why?

Because if you have hair longer than stubble, it's handy. I have waist length hair and if I couldn't wrap it up out of the way, getting dry would be like painting the Forth Road Bridge. Having said that though, I always take a turban thing away with me because I hate trying to balance a pile of towel on my head.

Mumofyellows · 24/10/2026 18:45

One hand towel for hair and a bath towel at the very minimum per person! Towels are my bugbear on holidays, I’ve stayed in some brilliant air bnbs where there has been a whole cupboard of spares we were told we could use, which was amazing, as it was hard to get them dry in the humid weather, but others where you just get the minimum for a whole week which stresses me out! I’ve taken to always packing a hair turban for after the shower when I go away and an extra thin microfibre towel to avoid this. It is annoying though!

Eh? Who is twatting around the house? I don’t want my log hair dripping water all over the floor and over me when I’ve had a shower, I honesty have never heard of anyone NOT using a towel for their hair and one for body.

Exactly! With your wet hair dripping all over the place!

MajorSamanthaCarter · 24/10/2026 19:33

Towels? How entitled, just run around naked until your dry.

FairViewRosie25 · 24/10/2026 19:37

I prefer a really thin cheap towel for hair so always take my own

Just had a look to buy some: not seen a single towel retailer with a filter for hair.

I have shoulder length hair. Use a towel on body then hair. What’s a hair turban other than a marketing pitch?

Hankunamatata · 24/10/2026 20:34

Bath towel each and hand towel in bathroom.

mysoddenbananabread · 24/10/2026 20:36

I hate getting one bath towel and one tiny hand towel for my hair. It's not good enough.

But once you have dried your hair when you put the towel around you it will be sopping wet and freezing.

Err, dry yourself first, obviously.

Ponderingwindow · 24/10/2026 22:21

My hair just keeps dripping all over my body while I try to dry it with a towel. It is a pointless exercise. It is like a super sponge that draws in all the moisture of the universe. Hairdressers always comment on how impossible it is to dry

my routine is to towel it for about 20 minutes to soak out as much water as I can air dry for an hour minimum but preferably 90 minutes, and then it only needs about 10-15 minutes with a dryer. If I try to just lightly towel it off and use a dryer it takes over an hour.
