Read a long piece about him on Unherd the other day, has it been linked to, I haven't RTFT? It basically said, he may not be taken seriously in the UK, but in the US, especially in places like Florida, God and Mammon sit very happily together, and they recognise a kindred spirit.

That’s one if the reasons Trump has won two elections! He has deployed religiosity to win over the evangelicals. I don’t believe he ( Trump) has any real religious faith but it plays extremely well in much of the USA.

I hate myself for having found him amusing back in the day. Now I hope he spends a good few years in prison.

Yes dont beat yourself up..he wa one of those charismatic personalities (apparently 😂)

interested to ask you what you think of hm now? Does he appear creepy to you now?

NotAnotherScarf · Yesterday 22:05

As a man I can see why some men are attractive. Clooney, Pitt, Elvis, etc. him made my skin craw from moment one. Then he's the darling of the BBC moaning that the NHS didn't help with his h addiction...well no fucker held you down and jacked you up did they, but little kids didn't ask for cancer. Then question fucking time moaning the government should help everyone and someone pointed out that he was wealthy why wasn't he putting his hand in his pocket. Saw the little rat squirm.

Apart from that I hope he gets 50 years

@throwawayimplantchat A (much, much) smaller number now who maybe still find him attractive.

My point was that he can't be considered objectively repulsive or unattractive when there are women who find him attractive.

Who said otherwise though?

mr pop off?

was that jester?

My claypole was the jester. Miss popov was Audrey in corrie.

Rationally, I know that a major plank of English Common Law is the right to trial and innocent until proven guilty but I'm slightly questioning why there has to be a trial for this: of course he did it; they wouldn't have accused him for no reason. Maybe the trial is just to determine how bad RB really has been and thus to decide the length/severity of his sentence?

I'm not in the least pro-Brand here, but I'm sure it's not unheard of to accuse somebody of something they haven't done.

Add to that the time piers morgan asked him for his fav bible quote and he panicked and struggled, eventhough he had his own beloved bible in his fucking hand. Who's he kidding?

50 years, and andrew sachs should be allowed to kick him in the nuts each time he comes up for parole.

He used a bible as a prop in an earlier court appearance but was called out by Piers Morgan. The video clip is painful to watch as it becomes obvious that the carefully marked pages were … a charade?

Edit. I dont know why the link doesnt show the thumbnail picture. Google “Russel Brand reads the bible Piers Morgan youtube”/

That was compellingly cringeworthy. Some wag commented; Rustle Brand. 🤣

Honestly I'll make an exception for him. Not because he looks dirty, because I know how hard it is to secure a rape conviction. I think the fact he's famous may also go in his favour potentially???? If found not guilty I'll still believe the women accusing him.

Yes, after having just watched the Michael Jackson 'Verdict' documentary on Netflix, this was how I came away feeling as well. Not guilty legally, but certainly not innocent and I believe the victims were not lying.

Netcurtainnelly · Yesterday 22:14

Yes, Russell Brand did end his marriage to Katy Perry via a text message on December 31, 2011, informing her that he was filing for divorce. Following that final message, Perry revealed she has not heard from him directly since. The couple officially divorced in 2012 after 14 months of marriage.

Bloody Wonderful not . 😲

Yet again, there are people on here who think that just because somebody has been charged, then they must be guilty...it's really worrying, because God help us if any of you ever end up on a jury.
I can't say that Russell Brand has ever appealed to me either, and he's certainly done some questionable things, but let's please wait until the trial has concluded before discussing his guilt, or innocence.

I always wonder if John peel
would have been accused if he had lived on…

Yes, remember my partner being particularly gutted by that news when it came out. Didn't Peel himself admit underage girls? I know his first wife was 15. Yuck.

Yes like some kind of eerie theatrical pirate / court jester hybrid predator, flamboyantly dressed and using 75 words when 3 would do in some sort of hypnotic fast paced way.

This is such a great description. He also
somehow manages to come across as sanctimonious without even opening his mouth.

RaggedRocks · Yesterday 22:18

So all 6 accusers are making it up?

So why are you here

i find your post patronising…we know how juries work and responsibilities there

this is just a discussion thread…it might be difficult for you on a jury if you dont understand context

I completely agree with this post. I have never liked Russell Brand's persona as he presented himself, or his work, but he has the absolute right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

He always sways into the court in a really arrogant way

especially the first time with shirt open baring his chest…yuk!

agree…he is the male equivalent of “grey bras”…just looks unclean

cant believe his wife isn’t smelling the coffee..how much doesn’t she need..just to be accused is enough 🤢

This attitude is insane. People saying that they think he’s a vile sex pest and they believe him guilty are doing absolutely zero harm to the rule of law. We are adults capable of telling the difference between having a chat online and being on a jury.

Sanctimonious doesn’t even begin to cover those who lecture about “innocent until proven guilty” whilst misapplying the principle.
