🤢 🤢 Russell Brand. I never liked him anyway, Now he's on trail. Denies all charges of course.

Rationally, I know that a major plank of English Common Law is the right to trial and innocent until proven guilty but I'm slightly questioning why there has to be a trial for this: of course he did it; they wouldn't have accused him for no reason. Maybe the trial is just to determine how bad RB really has been and thus to decide the length/severity of his sentence?

There has to be enough evidence to go to court

of course he needs a trial

Yeah why IS that? Hmm

Brand is a first class vile creep. He's giving Gary Glitter vibes. Arrogant and creepy, probably blames the girls/women.

Why on earth is his girlfriend standing by him? Vom.

Wife isnt it? Mother of his 3 kids

Kirsty Gallaghers sister who also supports him?

Yep. Repugnant individual.

could never see the attraction from the get go

the knotted hair unwashed look is not for me

Puddingwombles · Yesterday 19:22

Me neither I never liked him. I remember some ladies at my work back in the mid 2000’s saying how much they loved him and found him funny. They couldn’t understand why I found him so creepy! He’s always give me the ick. A vile, narcissistic individual

People are sometimes falsely accused.

I'm not a fan, but we can't just decide he's guilty because he looks like he needs a good wash and is irritating/arrogant.

OonaStubbs · Yesterday 19:23

I never understood what people saw in him. And people were saying he could decide some election or other because he was against the Tories. Vile creature.

IzzyLeng · Yesterday 19:20

I remember that documentary. Vile. Apparently they had to dismiss loads of potential jurors - all the people who had seen it.

His ex friend who was with him the night of one of the alleged rapes has basically said he was acting like someone who had done something bad afterwards - said he had gone too far with a girl and they needed to leave brighton immediately.

He keeps a crucifix in his hand at all times in the dock. I don't believe this "found Jesus" shit. Grasping at straws imho.

What documentary?

Pollyan · Yesterday 19:25

Finding god has the vibes of suddenly deciding you’re a trans woman when you see a chance of going to a women’s prison not a men’s.

Always felt creeped out by him! I never understood the appeal.

Me neither.
I can’t see what Katy Perry or Laura Gallagher saw/see in him.
He spoke highly of his mother. What a shame she wasn’t able to instil in him respect for

Tinydanceer · Yesterday 19:26

Alittlefrustrated Imeant if my husband was accused that would be enough for me…there is evidence of something to get to court

I think it’s reasonable to presume that anyone who is a self proclaimed “sex addict” has, at absolute best, got some questionable sexual encounters in their history. More likely there have been instances of assault or rape.

Addicts will get their fix no matter what.

Men are rarely falsely accused. Being found not guilty doesn't mean he didn't do it.

Jimmyjumpy · Yesterday 19:28

On trial I think you mean. Whatever your opinion (and no one knows him personally I bet), we have a key legal principle here. The presumption of innocence.

Violet76 · Yesterday 19:28

Listening to the news earlier - nteresting make up of the jury - 8 men and 4 women.

OneoftheWeddingPeople · Yesterday 19:28

Genuinely never understood the appeal. A loud mouth who uses long words. Everything about him is revolting. Found the accusations totally unsurprising.

Honestly I'll make an exception for him. Not because he looks dirty, because I know how hard it is to secure a rape conviction. I think the fact he's famous may also go in his favour potentially???? If found not guilty I'll still believe the women accusing him.

mr pop off?

was that jester?

Mr. Claypole? (Don't know if this has been answered already)

Diamond7272 · Yesterday 19:31

His wife has lost her dignity accompanying him to court too...

Guilty or not, the things he got up to were just revolting. These are just the cases that the CPS believe they have enough evidence to convict him for... Imagine how many women didn't quite meet the criteria?

IzzyLeng · Yesterday 19:31

Violet76 · Yesterday 19:28

Shame there's not a more even mix. You've already got 8 people who are less likely to convict unless someone saw him do it......

.look at that footballer who admitted to having sex with the woman in the travelodge who was so drunk she couldn't stand. cctv evidence of how drunk she was, receptionist said she was totally drunk, he let his mate in through the window to have a go, admitted having sex with her and he still was ultimately found not guilty I believe.

I just saw him on the news & his wife appears to be sticking up for him.
@FeelSoSorry he reminds me a bit of the jester from Rentaghost.

Noooo, dont spoil my nostalgic love for Rentaghost 😞

In very rare cases yes, however how unlucky would you need to be for six people, who have never met to all accuse you of sexual assault.

yea its just that, a principal

You need to be careful here. Contempt of court etc.
