🤢 🤢 Russell Brand. I never liked him anyway, Now he's on trail. Denies all charges of course.

OP posts:

I never liked Brand, even at the height of his popularity. He's always come across as arrogant. I have always thought he looked scruffy and in need of a good scrub!

I see that Brand has found God; oldest trick in the book that one, finding religion when charged with a crime or whilst in prison.

Yes Ross and Brand just exploited an unsuspecting woman and her family - casually. There are so many women who have complained about Russell humiliating them - Katherine Ryan, Lorraine Kelly, Vanessa Feltz, Dannii Minogue. As well as random members of the audience and crew that he pursued. He got away with far too much for so long.

The BBC hasn’t got a very good track record imv - nick kyrios commentating on the tennis when he has admitted to DV against his partner

allowing Ross to come back

not exposing Saville

FuzzySlippers · Yesterday 20:57

Awful that he was clearly abusing women for years across many employers and nobody stopped him.

This is an interesting read with mentions regarding Chris Evans and Chris Moyles who while I do t think were anywhere in Brand’s league sailed close to the wind with various comments back in the day.

Article talks about the late 90s and early 00s being a time when it was more acceptable to joke about some pretty awful stuff regarding women.

Which rings true for my memories of the time. I’m pretty sure i remember Chris Evans interviewing Brand who was merrily telling stories of shagging young groupies, etc and Evans lapping it up and laughing about it.

I I think another thing which won’t go In Brands favour is his previous boasting of reckless sexual exploits. Some of which when you look back are pretty much described by himself as being non consensual.

Agree with all this

Chris Evan’s having interviewees on that he fancied

Happyjoe · Yesterday 20:58

He literally was loud and proud how he treated women in his heyday. Even on tv he would behave badly towards those around him and people thought he was funny. He's always been a creep, smarmy disgusting man imo.

The only thing surprising about his court is that there's not a load more women coming forward.

I do remember Vanessa feltz saying she found him hugely sexually attractive at the time

it was rolf Harris she said assaulted her

cupfinalchaos · Yesterday 21:00

He’s just foul. Looks like he hasn’t washed for years. Beyond revolting and deserves more than he gets whatever that’ll be.

The bbc were complicit - even unconsciously - run by men who saw women as their appendages

DoubleShotEspresso · Yesterday 21:03

I read a comment earlier referring to RB as Temu Jesus, which I think is a perfect summary.

He’s grim

As well as Rolf Harris, Huw Edwards, Scott Mills, Stuart Hall, Gregg Wallace........

Always thought he was a freak. Apparently that silly bushy hair up-do he had was extensions, what a twat. Obviously it's much more serious than that but he deserves complete mockery.

Ah, but he is a man of god remember, isn’t it odd that men like that find god once they charged with crimes.

He's not just a Man of God, he is the very reincarnation of Jesus! Or at least that's how he's rebranded (pun intended) himself.

I think Dave Lee Travis resigned before the BBC had a chance to not-sack him, didn't he? I mean before his shenanigans came to light.

@BrotherOswin he has fucked up his own life! Him and him only

he has already admitted to doing abhorrent things so 💁🏻‍♀️ that’s enough for us

it’s for him and his wife to worry about his children - maybe he should have pleaded guilty to limit what’s out there

hang him hang him we the mumsnet jury have convicted him- no need for trial, eh?
i very much doubt he's admitted to some of the more graphic stuff people have outlined here- but hey he's got creepy vibes hasnt he, "that's enough for us"
you really are the witch burners of yore- you're absolutely loving this aren't you

I wonder how consistent you are with men from more fashionable demographics- men who committed mass rape in Rotherham for years,
men in dresses actually entering female spaces- hope you're as vocal about them- given there's no nuance that such men are a danger to women

I always wonder if John peel
would have been accused if he had lived on…

I think it's fair to reserve judgement until he's had the opportunity to defend himself.

We know like we knew with Greg Wallace..

the stuff he has openly admitted to is sexual assault so i don’t know how you can argue

you’ve run away with yourself in the last few paragraphs..la la land

this is why a poster has questioned that the jury is 2/3 men

as said the stuff he’s admitted to is a bad enough

choking young girls with his penis

I actually have a story regarding Russell that happened to me roughly 10 years ago. I told myself to forget it at the time and kept it to myself.

I and 2 others made cakes for a community hall at a Red Nose type event and Russell and entourage were filming a piece and he bit into my cake at the end of the clip. After the camera turned off I was in the wings and heard him shout to the producer that whoever made the cake should be moved to gardening because 'tastes like something from the compost heap'.
I have never had any criticism of my cakes EVER. I use a traditional fail safe recipe that has been in the family for generations. I hated him from that moment on.

They're really throwing the book at him aren't they? Cheeky little stint in the clinky-dinky, eh guvnor.

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · Yesterday 21:23

If someone is genuinely converted whilst their sin is forgiven they don't get to avoid consequences nor do they lie about previous sins but rather they try and make restitution, the tax collector who was converted says he will pay back 4 times what he stole . So if he has committed a crime by the law then he should confess and plead guilty. If it was not a crime according to any even casual reading of the bible it was multiple serious sexual sins for which repentance and attempts to put it right with victims is required. I have not heard any type of public apology for previous behaviour or any admission that he has sinned before God and people. I am not saying it is impossible for someone like RB to find God and be forgiven but Biblical standards are for repentance and you should know someone has repented by lifestyle change and an acknowledgement that their previous life was wrong and they are doing their best to restore justice and peace etc
