The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

A woman takes a photo of sign advertising the Green Party conference.

Green Party members back 'Zionism is racism' conference motion

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

I certainly hope that Labour will rule out any coalition governments with the Greens in future unless the recant on all this antisemitism.

No chance now. Probably the Lib Dems if necessary.

I should hope not! This is why I am not keen on proportional representation, we could end up with Restore propping up the right or the Greens propping up the left. Either would extract a price.

Craftysue · 06/10/2026 17:51

Well at least everyone knows what they stand for now before any elections. I'm curious to see the Holborn result and what Polanski will do if he doesn't win. I'm ashamed to say I voted for Zahra Sultana in the last election before she set up Your Party. I won't make that mistake again

Years ago I voted for proportional representation in the referendum but I certainly would not do so again.

No. That was part of the problem for the Weimar Republic.

It’s just typical of humans facing the biggest climate threat ever to be bickering about Israel and pronouns. And btw , I’m not saying that those aren’t important but surely the climate emergency trumps everything? If people think undocumented immigration is bad now, just wait ten years. We need to be back in EU with associate countries like Canada joining us , fighting the causes of the climate emergency and preparing for the mass migration north to come. Green MPs should be in Westminster reminding governments of this EVERYDAY. So here we are Green Party, what you’ve been warning us about for decades is happening, it’s your time… but no, you’ve forgotten about the climate.

Wasn't it alternative voting? That's not the same thing.

I think if Polanski goes there will be a massive power struggle. A lot of the TRAs I’ve read on Reddit etc think Mothin Ali is transphobic and that he should be forced to toe that line.

This is what has done for Your Party IIRC. Even the Jew hate wasn't enough to get them to toe the line on trans rights. I wonder which faction in The Greens decided homophobia in the Muslim world was as a result of European colonialism?

So we have a political party in the UK that hates capitalism, blames all our problems on the rich and the Jews and to cap it off their leader is also vegetarian.

Now what 1930s German political party does that remind you of?

Hope Zac doesn't have a dog...

Not just homophobia- “queerphobia” 🙄

As a labour party supporter, I'm quite glad there is a new home for every entryist, crank and foreign policy single-issue obsessive. You're welcome to them.

To the Green party I say- keep on , keeping on.

...until Burnham buys the greens for an "anyone but Farage/tory " coalition, and has to give them mental stuff

I still remember the moment when Zarah Sultana's single brain cell finally realised her noble revolutionary comrades were actually just crusty old sexists.

He's not used to being forced to tow any line:he's out and out extremist, and anti British and anti democratic

That’s why it’s going to be interesting if Polanski goes because lots of the entryists are TRAs.

Yes her 'no room for social conservatives'. Did she, despite being born and brought up into the Pakistani Miripuri clan, think hardline Muslims men weren't ' socially conservative'?

There are many similarities. People seem to forget the Nazis were a socialist party, not right wing.

Scary times. Where else does a political party's Jewish members have to have a sade room at their own political conference??! Why the hell are they still Green members beggars belief.

Absolutely. National Socialists.
Scary times indeed.

They've also dropped their opposition to nuclear power.

"The motion, adopted at conference, removes a “blanket opposition to nuclear fission” and instead commits the Green party of England and Wales to assessing nuclear projects alongside other low-carbon technologies.

Its electricity generation policy still prioritises offshore wind, onshore wind and rooftop solar as the primary sources of electricity, but allows elected representatives to support new nuclear reactors on a case-by-case basis.

The Green MP Carla Denyer said the decision recognised there was a role for nuclear while the country moved towards an electricity system based primarily on renewables. “This evolution of our policy does not commit the party to backing new nuclear, but accepts this power source is here to stay for now, while we transition to electricity generation based primarily on renewable sources,” she said."

Well that might be the only sensible thing they’ve done.

They're just a bunch of left wing nut jobs. I hope people are waking up to the danger they pose.

Quine0nline · 06/10/2026 20:11

What about Pakistan? When British colonial India gained independence it included what is now Pakistan what is now Bangladesh.
In was agreed to create Pakistan and east Pakistan as a Muslim homeland, apart from the majority Hindu population. Is this not racist? If you consider Jewishness and Islam as races as the green party dies, the creation of a Muslim homeland is, then why not?

I could never understand why they were against nuclear power. Did they think nuclear power = nuclear weapons? Countries like France have had cheap, low co2 energy out of nuclear for years.

Yes. To be fair this isn't their fault because they were never in power, but nuclear is far cleaner and cheaper than fossil fuels, and how we don't have people who know how to work in nuclear energy anymore, and mothballed power stations that have to be rebuilt, taking years. We need something to back up renewables because we don't have massive battery storage ( which itself are environmentally problematic). It was so shortsighted.

I think it was a very confused policy anyway.
