The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

Exactly! The minimising and excusing of anti-semitism is disgusting and worrying. This needs highlighting and repeating until nobody can pretend they didn’t know what was happening.

This.

So many people with their heads in the sand and ignoring the Green Party and what it has become. It's shameful. I voted for them previously, but never again. They are dangerous. They are inviting attacks on Jewish people.

People ridicule Reform voters and call them racist and yet this Green Party with their mysogonistic and antisemitic views going almost unnoticed. The Green Party and their current supporters digust me. Vile.

I agree. They've crossed a line.

I think the european greens are trying to ditch them now, also horrified.

We are also going to have rallies on the 7th October, I’m sure the greens will be front and centre, the behaviour is really vile.

Edited

This would be sick. But about right for the current 'Greens'

The Greens don’t seem to realise they’ve been manipulated and usurped by the Palestine-obsessed activists.

Au contraire, I think anyone who is still in there now knows it and likes it.

"Do the Greens have a problem with antisemitism?"

"Of course not! We absolutely love it!"

The green party doesn’t think the IRGC should be proscribed despite the fact that there have been over 20 terror plots directed at the UK.

The call is coming from inside the house at this point. If you are supporting people who want to kill your fellow britons, whatever their race and religion you need to have a bloody good hard look at yourself.

Indeed.

Fortunately some are standing up to the antisemitic hate filled 'Greens'

Exclusive: Labour MPs report the Green party to the police

More than a dozen Labour MPs have reported the Green party to Sussex police and the EHRC over its ‘Zionism is racism’ policy, The Spectator can reveal. Zack Polanski’s party was plunged deeper into crisis this afternoon after politicians, led by former...

Good point. They are so open in their antisemitism, they must love the hatred. I hope people that previously voted for them, wake up and realise that the party that used to be The Green Party has long gone.

People are worried about climate change. This would have been the perfect opportunity for a good, well run ecology party to do well.
They've trashed that

Very frustrating.

As I’ve said on other threads, it sends the message to everyone that maybe the climate crisis isn’t that important or compelling after all, and identity politics is more pressing.

There is a substantial Jewish population in that constituency. I'd be surprised if they didn't turn out in force to make sure that Polanski doesn't get elected. I hope to see him utterly humiliated. The only worry is who might replace him. There are so many people who see Green and think 'the environment! I'll vote for them' and have no idea that the environment has slipped right down the Greens' list of priorities.

I think it would be best for him to be replaced so the Greens can stop pretending they can't be antisemitic because they have a Jewish leader. Time to end the pretence and make clear what they stand for.

They haven't been a party that prioritizes environmental issues for many years. These days their main preoccupations seem to be the eradication of women's rights and Gaza. Let's have it out in the open so people can be clear about voting Green means.

The letter reads: ‘Our concern is whether the term “Zionist” was used, in this setting, to direct or encourage hostility towards Jewish people.

Hmm, let me think!

Would you believe that there are people here who not only deny that he got parked there to sanitise their antisemitism, but also expect to convince others of it? Someone told me I was being "absurd" to suggest it. I truly believe she thought she sounded credible.

Of course, and a definite shift to the far right.

This is a shift to the far left. Not much between the left and right at those extremes.

Maybe replaced by their cuddly deputy leader Mothin? That’d be interesing, and perhaps some would then find themselves wondering why letting in entryist leopards has turned it into the Leopards Ate My Face Party?

I think if Polanski goes there will be a massive power struggle. A lot of the TRAs I’ve read on Reddit etc think Mothin Ali is transphobic and that he should be forced to toe that line.

I think Mothin Ali would make the perfect leader of the party tbh.

EmptyInbox · 06/10/2026 17:38

I lead a pretty stereotypical ‘N London leftie’ life. I don’t know a single person who supports the Greens. What a shame to not have a party dedicated to the environment. And one who chooses abhorrent causes to support. I hope they lose. They are a parody now of themselves.

DrBlackbird · 06/10/2026 17:41

Woodeny · 06/10/2026 11:05

It’s racist though. The context is irrelevant. And what the hell has Palestine got to do with the UK? What does wasting endless time whanging on about Palestine change? It will have absolutely no effect on what goes on in the Middle East. It’s just a huge waste of everyone’s time and energy. Put that time and energy into change you can effect like improving UK public services even if it is harder to do, not as exciting and means you cannot flaunt your antisemitism as much.

@Bringemout also said: Tbh more than anything else I’m sick of how a conflict thousands of miles of way has taken over domestic politics to this extent. It’s led to terrorism and harassment of a minority group, it’s soaked up so much political energy which should be focused on the UK, wasted police resources because every idiot with a flag needs to be on the street. It’s just gone way too far and the government needs to start coming down hard on all of this shite. The worst of our society have become emboldened and our government sits on its hands and looks the other way.

As both of you are absolutely right. And there is nothing that a British political party can really do to influence the Middle East conflict (the governing party mildly excepted), I’m now thinking that campaigning about Gaza is a pretence. There can be no genuine expectation of influencing anything there. Those involved in the campaign are intelligent people and they must know this.

Therefore, if that is not the objective, what is? The aim must be what has already happened and is happening. A clarion call, a rallying cry to those who would support a river to the sea outcome of the conflict. But the actual objective can only be insertion into uk politics. We can all shake our heads and mutter ‘loons’ but there’s every possibility that a small committed group of Greens dominates the party and gain many local seats and an increased presence in British politics.

What that exactly will look like will be the question. I’m doubtful green issues will get much notice though.

It definitely won't be the TRAs.
