The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

A woman takes a photo of sign advertising the Green Party conference.

Green Party members back 'Zionism is racism' conference motion

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

Why didn't they include an "Islamism is racism" vote then? There have been far more deaths and destruction under the banner of "Islamism" (political Islam), with minimum 30,000 civilians murdered by the genocidal Islamic regime in Iran this year alone, let alone the hundreds of thousands of civilians murdered in places like Sudan by the Arab Janjaweed, and the hundreds of thousands of Christians slaughtered in Nigeria, all by Islamist ideology, all because they were either considered infidels or because in Sudan they are non-Arab Africans. The scale of destruction in Sudan is so massive it can be seen from space, not to mention the thousands of yearly deaths caused by terrorist attacks all over the world in the name of this political ideology!

Oh stop with all your annoying facts - they really get in the way of my deeply held ‘bekind’ beliefs.

George Soras, no doubt.

If you are going to spout conspiracy theories, at least get his name right.

Indeed. Or that "equal rights for anyone on that land" will never happen under the brutal rule of the fascist Hamas.

”equal rights for anyone on that land" will never happen under the brutal rule of the fascist Hamas.…..

nor for one moment under Israeli Ben Givr, Smotrich and Netanyahu’s rule of murder, destruction and theft.

Nevertheless, I think the Green Party was wrong to say what they did.

What a nightmare. I can't decide if they're racist, misogynist and homophobic, or just complete idiots who've never opened a book and have zero idea of Middle East history.

All of the above.

Wow green to reform is quite the change! Greens really are loosing voters.

It is, but voting Green is a protest vote against Tories and Labour establishment just like Reform is. They can agree on thinking the Tories fucked things over and Labour aren’t competent to fix it.

What a shock it must have been to him ( not) that the only effect it has had has been that British Jews feel attacked. Those silly Jews misunderstanding the chants of ' Zio's not welcome here' ( ' here' being Brighton, not Tel Aviv) as an attack on them. Especially when amendments making it clear they were not going to be punished for attending Jewish community groups and synagogues was voted down. Honestly they are so oversensitive! A proposal that would guarantee the elimination of 7 million Jews is in no way an attack on British Jews. Of course not. It's the Corbynite excuse. You don't understand what we meant when we said words that commonly mean one thing, because they really mean something else that we've made up to suit our agenda.

Yes ! If the Greens are going to use policy to target and demonise Jewish people then they should have the balls to admit it. Don’t lie and try to gaslight the public by telling us we’ve misunderstood the policy.

Well, to be fair, a lot of them did and were suspended. So Mothin Ali told them to sue the party. Fuck him, fuck their Poundshop Riddler leader, fuck the entire racist shitshow of a Reform Mark II bunch of turds.

I think this might have started out as a revolt against education but I'm watching carefully.

It’s very specifically a protest about the underfunding of schools, crumbling buildings, inadequate staffing levels etc. Confused

Newrumpus · 06/10/2026 14:34

MidnightFridgeRaider · 06/10/2026 10:56

As Ali noted, the key context for this vote is the heavy Palestinian death toll and the massive, devastating destruction of lives in Gaza and Palestine. For the members who voted for it, this wasn't an attack on British Jews, but a direct response to that ongoing catastrophe—using policy to stand in solidarity against what they view as severe oppression and to call for equal human rights for everyone on that land.

Do you agree with the motion?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/10/2026 15:11

Douglasmummy · 06/10/2026 12:05

The majority of victims of Islamist extremism globally are Muslims. Not to mention the large number of Muslim women living in Afghanistan who would rather kill themselves than live under the Taliban. Who cares about them eh?

Edited

Women (the biological kind) are already second class citizens to the Greens. Just look at Mothin Ali’s poor wife.

My query is around who is fuelling this. That's all.

I never said anything about Netanyahu.
My point is that I cannot understand people supporting a worse option; Hamas.

dustabsorber · 06/10/2026 15:31

They appeal to younger people because they won't have to work because the Greens will give them free flats to live in, free transport and UBI to live off, all funded by taxing the billionaires.

SevenYellowHammers · 06/10/2026 15:37

Zack will have pissed off all North London Jewish folk so he won’t win that election. The Muslims who might have voted for him will vote for labour lass. He’s toast. That motion on Zionism was horribly worded. “The Green Party deplores and condemns Israeli treatment of Palestinian people on Gaza Strip and West Bank and further calls for more sanctions against Israel until productive talks talk place.” We could all get behind that. The motion they voted through is highly divisive and make greens seem like cranks. I would happily see a few Greens in Parliament holding governments to account on environmental issues but they are getting involved in virtually everything else.

EmpressOfTheThread · 06/10/2026 15:39

People are worried about climate change. This would have been the perfect opportunity for a good, well run ecology party to do well.
They've trashed that

Very frustrating.

Your mistake is in thinking that it's actually supposed about environmental issues. It's not and hasn't been for a long time. It's been parasitised by perverts and antisemites and that's what it's about now. That's its purpose.

I truly think it is irredeemable. I don't think it can be rescued. A new party that actually is about ecology is the only answer. It might not even need to be closely guarded because the extremists, racists and perverts have got their political home now.

Definitely time for an actual Green Party to emerge.

The communists are gender critical and anti EU. Greens are just middle class socialists and yes, veer very easily into fascism without noticing. Bit like they always have.
