I'll start by saying, I am very anti open boarders, and I am horrified that so many illegal immigrants are arriving every day. But for me, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour, it is more to do with :

ONE) They have no documentation, and we have no idea if they have criminal backgrounds

TWO) They tend to come from cultures where women are not respected

THREE) They often come from places where rape is not a crime

FOUR) They cannot work, and it is costing Millions to house, feed and clothe them

FIVE) We are granting asylum to some people who should never get it - like the Hamas bodyguard we heard of yesterday

Lots of valid reasons I feel, however, for me, it has nothing to do with skin colour. If I had to be locked in a room overnight with a white man from a backward culture, or a black man from the UK, I would choose the latter, every single time.

The FOI request answered by the S Yorkshire police shows that men of all nationalities - and I guess colours, though 'colour' isn't stated, conduct sex crimes. Some, much more than others as you can see. Attached

I agree, so to go back to my original point- when the OP says ‘they come from cultures that don’t respect women’ as a reason she doesn’t want immigrants here with the implication that they are dangerous…so are our own men, they also don’t respect women. So in my opinion that’s not a reason to deny asylum seekers. it is, as you say, a moot point .

All countries that have sexual assault rates like ours are shit. Any place where the vast majority of women have been assaulted is shit. Is a sexual assault/harrasment figure like we have acceptable to you? if it isn’t you would agree it’s shit to be a woman here, yes? If it is, then you shouldn’t have any issue with immigrants coming here doing the same thing our own men are doing which you don’t mind. One of those has to be true.

We live in a very small place. Many people know my child because she has been in the local media for activism for LGBTQ people, she organises pride events every year. She went to school with people who know her work there for LGBTQ pupils in the school.

I think any woman would be grateful to have been born in the UK over Sudan and Somalia
