Like him but struggling with this physical feature that apparently all men have of a certain age?

Met someone lovely. I do fancy him. But, he has a small bum. He very much needs a belt. It’s basically flat. He’s late 40s and lost a lot of weight in last few years (previously overweight now a healthy weight) which I think has emphasised this even more.

Girlfriends are saying this is normal with age (he’s around 8 years older than me) and happens with all men. Does it?! I’ve never noticed it before. I don’t want this to be an issue as I really do like him. We’ve not DTD yet

I don't know how my husband manages to sit as he has no arse at all but he is still gorgeous.

ShakyBake · Today 21:14

You say he needs a belt? Can you give us a rough size and weight please?

Berlinlover · Today 21:20

My partner is 71 and has a very pert bum but he has worked out for years.

ShakyBake · Today 21:26

Ive found the link so if you let us know his rough sizing and weight I can recommend a type of corset/up lifter I think may solve this

Catza · Today 21:29

My 40-something partner is a weightlifter and has rather amazing butt and legs. I am very jealous.
So no, it's not so much the age (although, sarcopenia is real!) it's a combination of genetics and choice of exercise.

SunsetDrifter · Today 21:30

He needs to get down the gym/start running, my husband has a fabulous arse, he's very into running and keeps himself in shape, it's lovely and pert. The fact you are thinking about this and posting about it suggests it does bother you though, enough to not want to carry on dating though? Well only you can decide that!

It does remind me of the episode of sex and the city when Samantha dates the older millionaire and she dumps him after seeing his flat saggy naked arse 🤣

Applesonthelawn · Today 21:30

I think it's genetic. I've never been blessed in the bum department. At 67 I train every day and it's no worse than before. DH on the other hand looks he could crack walnuts in his.

She's allowed ask questions about bums or the lack thereof on an anonymous forum. It's not like she's saying to his face 'Oi, Dave, why is your arse so skinny?'

That made me laugh- I had an arseless ex called Dave.

Huckleberries · Today 21:32

How can this be an issue?! I mean…. Just how?

Once again, I find myself astonished that I’m single and women on this site who talk about men like this are coupled up.

fine, go and find yourself man with buns of steel if that’s what you want.

Dollymylove · Today 21:33

Womens bums go flat as well after a certain age 🙄

WhoPaintedMyRosesRed · Today 21:34

@Numppp the majority of men have small pert bottoms or flat ones. I find it more unusual to see a man with a really fat arse!

It’s not an age thing, it’s just their shape. It can be worked out on though to change it.

I think she should say this to him

All those in favour say 'aye'

Aye 😃

Could you also find out if his arse does hurts when he sits on a hard chair.

LateMumma · Today 21:37

My glutes are really solid, I exercise 5-6xp/wk, but I have the flattest arse known to humankind, and always have. Sometimes it’s just genetics

Userengage · Today 21:38

I do like a decent arse on a man, I would question it too.

DrumsPleaseFab · Today 21:40

I have never noticed this on men, my husband was always self conscious about having a small bum but I never particularly fancied the idea of a man with a huge big bottom so I never got what the issue was 😂

hope you can get over it. ageing definitely changes people’s body shape

i always wonder how come that older men seen to have big bodies with tiny legs and younger men have shorter bodies with longer legs. I do not understand how this can happen and I am fairly intelligent.. but rare to see an older guy with long legs. Some men look like they are 70% upper body once over 50, especially if overweight …

Cherryicecreamx · Today 21:41

I don't think I've found any man's arse attractive 🤣 Definitely shouldn't be a deal breaker. I'm sure you can buy some padded bum inserts!

NewNameW · Today 21:41

God I wish I had a bum! I'm only 35 but theres nothing I walk and climb stairs for hours each day but nope. No butt.

I do appreciate a good bum on both a man and a woman and I wish I had one! But would I give up something that could be a great love because of a lack of arse? No.

I think if your looking at that and it's putting you off then it's just not the guy for you, you won't get past if it you haven't already.

OsfameronTanamoril · Today 21:42

All the advice to tell him to go to the gym: I would leave anyone who told me go to the gym to improve my bum or my bust or any body part.

puppysleepdeprivation · Today 21:42

Personally, I'd rather no bum than too much, but different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I don't find myself looking at men's bottoms all that often. It's rarely an appealing part of the body, imho.

You haven’t seen mine!
It has become more… Just more.

mybiggreenfrog · Today 21:44

You sound like a man!

Gonners · Today 21:44

Better a small arse than a large one, regardless of age or sex.

PostmanPatAlwaysRingsTwice · Today 21:47

I am laughing my arse off (ho ho) at "some magic 40 plus disappearing butt"

HideousKinky · Today 21:48

I don't think this is always the case with older men - my DH is 70 and very fit (wingfoiling & swimming) and it certainly hasn't happened to him

MintSnail · Today 21:48

Walk on front of him?
