To be disappointed Dolly Parton supported biological men using women's toilets?

I really liked her music and she seemed like a nice person: her Imagination Library came to my borough recently. I was very sad to hear she'd died.
But was very disappointed to read this. The statements she made about trans people deserving respect, no issue with those.
But minimising the reasonable concerns women have about being forced to let men in their toilets was wrong.
I'm not saying she should have spoken out for GC issues. It might have been best just not to comment.
Parton had connections with drag queens and I wonder if that's the lens she saw transwomen through : not an excuse but might partially explain.

If "TIMs" are that bad and dangerous because they are men, GC men are just as bad and dangerous and untrustworthy because they are men. You should be equally suspicious of their motivations.

What I know is that I've seen one poster I know for sure is male and I have seen him attack several women for disagreeing with him, including blatant name calling which I've personally reported and had deleted. I also know that several women in FWR fawn over this man and support him when he attacks other women, just because he shares their PoV on one topic.

IMO, until a woman who knows him offline could vouch for him, he should have never been made comfortable in that part of the site at all.

I didnt say no men should be there at all. I said no man should be in there and comfortable enough to attack women about women's issues like he has been made to feel by the women who fawn over him.

for the second time, nothing when it's genuine and encompassing. You're getting so offended by the term bedfellows when no one is asking you to wear that shoe unless it fits. If you regularly go around calling out mens sexist comments on this issue, then you aren't who I'm talking about. I don't think you do though, or at least you haven't demonstrated it here.

Never said they shouldn't be on there, but if you describe it as a board of women that's incorrect and if you describe it as a board of feminists that's also incorrect. When people are accurately describing transphobic behaviour on FWR you can't say "oh you have a problem with women's rights" when there's plenty of contributors who are anti women's rights on there.
