I think that this is what ‘woke’ is shorthand for. It is the forming of a consensus about issues that a fair percentage of the population disagree with and refusing to even discuss them.

Things like EDI (I know it has a different name in the UK), the trans debate which affects all women and, of course, immigration. If anyone questions them they are labelled as bigoted or thick, or probably both.

It is the ‘extremist’ parties that questioned the woke agenda and brought it back into the mainstream. On the whole, their job is done as most parties are now at least speaking about the above issues. But now that their key issues are no longer USPs they are leveraging up their support and moving on to issues where there is a genuine consensus among decent people (such as not being racist).

Unfortunately they have momentum now, and will be hard to stop.

The only country that applies to is Afghanistan. And most asylum seekers are people persecuted for helping the British when we were there e.g. interpreters, or specific professions such as journalists and those fighting for human rights, and their families.

The government is there to do what's in our interests, not just to do what we want. And besides, it's impossible to do what 'most people's want because there isn't a common view on what that is beyond 'control our borders'. OK but what does that mean? How controlled? How many civil liberties do we erode to control them? How many fingerprints / bits of biometric and other data do we take at airports so that you can prove you're not 'illegal'? How much money do we spend? What and where do we cut to fund it? What new laws do we need? Which current ones do we want to change? Ask the football lads from these protests and I bet about 10 would understand you and there'd be about 15 different opinions from that group alone.

There are huge issues in this country regarding supply of housing, food, water and land, and keep adding to the problems of youth unemployment by bringing in people who will work shit jobs or just sit about on benefits helps no one.

Economic migrants boating themselves in is not good. We don't know who they are, the HO vetting is appalling and people seem to be able to stay for claiming all sorts of nonsense.
On top of that - which does get people far more excised - is the huge number of students who come over here and then claim asylum rather than go home, and those who bring family members requiring medical treatment.

There's serious unemployment and depression amongst the native population because they are seen as expendable - that someone else will get the jobs they have trained for (doctors, nurses, midwives, and then all the uni people who fail to get a good job because there are none)

Go and look at the list of jobs you can come to the UK to do. There's such stupid things on there.

Let's support our young people into work (reverse the awful changes to employment law immediately, reduce Employers NI) and get the UK on a stable footing.

Knowing enough about the rise of the AfD, I can tell you it does not come from a place of concern for kids. It's about hiding away those who need more support. Their roots are so deep in Nazism that even the RN in France (whose founder had controversial ties with former Nazis back in the day) refuses to sit with them in the European Parliament (there are questions around how much of that distance is just for show, but still... the AfD is that toxic)
