Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

He wouldn’t want to go there if Farage is active because Farage is also a big character. BoJo would want it to be all about him, given his credentials in frontline politics, I wouldn’t blame him either. He has held down some top positions and got away with be a bumbling idiot at times too.

That man still has fans and I can see him being highly popular if he went to Reform. I genuinely believe he and Gove were the reason why Brexit happened, never thought it would until they stepped up.

If it doesn't include everyone who was born here, regardless of where their parents were born, then I presume that you are referring to people with Celtic ancestry only?

I am 3/4 Celtic but had a grandfather who was probably Anglo-Saxon. I guess that rules me out?

I was being facetious. Admittedly I don't like Johnson because I have more respect for Brexiters who sincerely upheld their beliefs. He was an opportunist at best. At least, if he is raising his children that's better than not acknowledging their existence (as he's done in some cases).

I think that’s the thing. People just look at the protests and others being vocal about voting Reform in the media, and think ‘there’s nothing to see here’. But the reality is that there are millions of people in everyday life who won’t be shouting it from the rooftops, but who will just put their X next to Reform at the next election. My friends and extended family don’t know my political views and I don’t know theirs. Never talk politics with others because it can create drama and arguments. Not worth the hassle.

Yes, I don't recall when the world shifted it that way, the sort open acceptance and laughter at treating women violently. Of course it happened behind close doors but the lack of condemnation, the jokes about it, I can't think of any men in my life, Grandads, uncles, Dad, brothers that would have thought this is ok, in fact it would be the vehemently the opposite for my Grandad who probably would have tackled any man doing that!
