Rise of far right

Sillyme1 · Today 07:00

Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

Nice. The same is said about Badenoch. I think both will do just fine.

Me too. But I can't see many Reform members being very happy if Zia Yusef were to become leader.

Sadly yes at times. Thankfully it wasn’t a barrier for conservatives and the leadership election.

Zia Yusef would be the best man for the job.

they won’t be able to label him either!

No, deporting people based on the colour of their skin or religion was never a centrist position.

YANBU OP, but don't give up hope. The quieter majority are tolerant and sensible in the UK.

Reform don't want to deport people because of the colour of their skin or religion - just because they've come here illegally.

It won't be Yusef he knows that it will be an issue for some Reform voters he isn't that stupid

I think its likely to be Robert Jenrick (I am sure Reform will implode before the next election, too many big egos and in a year of two Farage will set up yet another party)

Posters seem to be getting triggered without reading what the thread is actually about.

The thread is about FAR right views (it’s literally in the title of the thread).

If you are a woman, you would not be agreeing with far right views (unless you were a complete idiot).

As a woman you should be just as concerned about the rise in far right views and as any leftist is.

Yes because the hard left aren't at all a threat to women are they. Hilarious!!!

MrPrettyDamnCosmic · Today 17:07

Gloriia · Today 15:54

Their actions were non threatening. Sadly with social media people get doxxed and outed. Trolls stalk and harass. We've seen here the 'far right' crap get parroted so I can understand why they covered their faces.

Again, no looting no violence, no arrests. That is the actual relevant bit.

Again, no looting no violence, no arrests.

There were at least two police cars with smashed windscreens. That's quite some degree of violence. I'm surprised that the police didn't arrest anyone for that but presumably they were too concerned about minimising trouble with the 300 fighting age men deliberating hiding their identities.

It was a very good move not to have Robert Jenrick. I am appalled at him, and Lee Anderson, for their comments of the beating up of the woman protestor. It is very sickening to hear such men making jokes about this physical assault.

Absolute tosh

according to what the media and other nefarious political parties are preaching, me as an non white non English woman would be far right because I believe in protected spaces based on SEX.

I would also be far right because I do not agree that raping white underaged girls is ok and we should shut up about it for the good of diversity.

Id be extremely far right because I do not believe in illegal migration.

That is why im contemplating voting for far right Kemi, or that big time islamaphobe Zia…

I've posted about mass immigration. The word mass. Talking about the sheer numbers and demographic change. It used constantly about immigration. It's a measure. You only want to talk about your daughter.

You have posted substantial hatred about me, you being a pillar of diversity and all that and proud of how harmonious it all is. Quite clearly your hatred of me is absolute proof that it's the opposite.

Yes, I did talk about my daughter, and I will make no apology for that, because when you make the kind of comments that you have been making, it is important to highlight that your words have a real impact on real human beings.

It is naturally going to be very personal to me when you start spouting shit about the presence in the country of people with one or more foreign-born parents being a problem. She is British. She was born in Britain. She has only ever lived in Britain. She has as much right as you do to be here.

I asked you to explain what your problem was with people who have foreign-born parents, but you chose not to articulate it.

I asked if you cared about the incredible hurt that your comments cause for people like my daughter and you stated that you didn't care.

You can talk about demographic change all you like, but ultimately, demography is about people. You have made it clear that you have a problem with certain people, but you haven't said why.

As for hating you? I don't even know you. But I hate racism and xenophobia, which are qualities that you have demonstrated on this thread. And I think attitudes like the ones that you have expressed on this thread are deeply damaging to our society.

Zia Yusef is a serious person and the best they have. The members will have no problem labelling him, I'm afraid.

As a woman I care that thousands of unvetted men are coming to our country, from countries where women are treated like animals. The men arriving here are not going to suddenly decide to treat women with respect. They arrive with learned behaviours. Women here have fought for decades to be treated as equals, yet shamefully, some women on here seem pretty happy to accept that the rights we’ve fought for are eroded, in the name of accepting these people into our community. There was a picture last week of a woman being stoned to death in Afghanistan for adultery. Is that what we want to see here, because that may be a reality in a few decades.

You realise people of all political leanings can be horrified at a murder, right? They can also not agree with the victims beliefs, but still be horrified at violence, you do understand that?

Also, I believe this is a scenario completely made up by yourself, so maybe have a look at where your internalised prejudice and hate is coming from.

I think Heather Herbert of Aberdeen university was arrested.

Someone else posted a picture of her on a fairground ride and mentioned her descent into hell.

Its so commonplace for those who hold certain conservative views to be threatened with death and their deaths celebrated I was not even surprised.

What a life if I make stuff like this up for….. fun?

I also think a lot will depend on how MAGA fares in the next US Midterms. There's a lot of movement in the world right now and the rise of the far right is absolutely not written in stone. For context, the AfD situation in Germany is not necessarily a sign that victory is near in France or the UK (some regions in the former East Germany were never effectively denazified once the Soviets took over, so yesterday's victory is also explained by a very specific historical and cultural context combined with economic neglect)

Wasn’t there rumours that the brilliant Suella Braverman was to switch to Reform as long as she had a chance of a top job or eventually THE top job?

where is BoJo? Most of the people that liked BoJo seem to have switched to Reform. He was surprisingly popular with working class men.

You don't care about the impact of demographic change on the native population. Demographic change has deeply damaged Britain already.

I would not put it past BoJo to save Reform and I think he will still appeal to many (we can all have short memories when it comes to voting)

he has made lots of money but politics is where his heart is and the man has no principles at all

OK feel free to indulge your own opinions and promote your own narrative.
If anyone has 'behaved badly'; then they will be taken to task and due process will take its course.

The trouble, is it's one thing after the next with Reform.

The lack of denouncement, indeed, quite the opposite with Jenrick's "Boo Hoo" comments are a reflection of what they stand for and the values they hold which are depressingly grim if you think it's ok to be so heavy handed towards a woman.
