Rise of far right

1000 replies

Sillyme1 · Today 07:00

Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

'I don't think CK is a good example: the vast majority of left-leaning politicians and public figures in general condemned the violence'

I'm talking about the public, social media etc. We had about 3 threads on here alone saying his murder was 'karma'.

My daughter has as much right to be in this country as you have. And I'm willing to bet that she contributes a whole lot more than you do too.

All you have to offer is mindless hate.

The left's reaction to the political murder of Ann Widdecombe. Truly awful.

That's bad, really bad.
Such people are beyond any hope of being called "human".
I never used to support Capital Punishment but that event made me change my mind.

newstartforjune26 · Today 16:11

I do not think anyone who isn’t an idiot truly cares about skin colour. I do not care if someone has one or two foreign born parents, but I am realising that I do want British people to hold British values, or at the very least, not be violently against British values. Is that racist?

As are people who call other posters selfish for having a child with a foreigner.

That poster is a prime example of brainless fanaticism. People like that are those that enthusiastically end up upholding the Nuremberg laws. PP is in fact already there in their beliefs.

Dear me. I've spent 35 years working in HR dealing with worse and worse racial prejudice against the native population to the point where a woman attempted to sabotage a job evaluation project because it was "white man standards". My experience of immigration over my working life is what has formed my opinion of it.

Calling anyone "brainless", which is just a childish sneer, makes no difference to the experiences people are having, all it does is confirm that immigration is at the core of a huge amount of disruption and isn't creating a stable country. Far from it. The mass immigration of the past few decades has caused massive unrest. This was the inevitable outcome of a chaotic approach which completely ignored normal human nature.

If 'far right' means not wanting boat loads of undocumented men from cultures that are usually misogynistic and hostile (a pamphlet telling them rape is 'not the done thing' in the UK, ffs.) then I guess I'm far right.

Frankly, I've had enough of my fellow women with their suicidal empathy.

'Suicidal Empathy' is a term used to express a misplaced empathy for others outside that group that destroys the group that person is in as the 'others' take advantage of the kindness to the group's detriment.

Same here. Studies show that women are more persuadable and conforming than men, under perceived or actual group pressure. Suicidal empathy of liberal women (and men but mainly women when looking at trans support in particular) is playing a large part in putting this country and Europe into the sorry state that it’s in.

You mean from trolls trying to rage bait?

Any half decent human wouldn’t celebrate the murder of anyone, regardless of whether they were left or right.

Why do you group everyone so tightly into left vs right?
Are you not able to see that both sides have extremists and very sick individuals?

The guy who shot and killed 5 people in Plymouth was right winged - he hated the idea of women having equal rights - you don’t see multiple posters suggesting you agree with him purely because you both agreed with some things.

You claim to be right winged but I would hope you aren’t so right winged that you don’t believe in equality for women etc and you wouldn’t want to be grouped in with those that are.

What has the murder of a defenceless elderly lady got to do with people's choice of partner/spouse ??

JoanOfThePark · Today 16:17

NoDrums · Today 15:54

It absolutely is. Wanting lower immigration, deportation of foreign born criminals, concepts of national identity and integration were very much part of mainstream centrist politics. With the advancing of far more left ideologies, these concepts are now what’s called “far right”.

Wondering what these far more left ideologies are? I would say that, despite a current Labour govt, political rhetoric has shifted significantly to the right overall with even Keir Starmer having used language that demonised migrants. And anyone remember Suella Braverman talking about an invasion on the south coast?

I wonder why people choose to vilify migrants rather than hold successive governments to account for their wrongs. For me, that means in recent times, the PPE scandal and Partygate which showed absolute contempt for the British people by the government of the day.

It absolutely isn’t racist. I have two foreign born parents, who emigrated here decades ago because of their respect of British values, not to supplant ones from their country of ancestry.

5MinuteArgument · Today 16:18

newstartforjune26 · Today 16:01

Exactly! I forgot about Charlie Kirk.

I cannot think of a single leftie dying where it’s been openly celebrated by those who disagree with them.

Yes, people on the left, including the mainstream media, demonise anyone who questions their orthodoxy. They are the good-thinkers and anyone who has different views is beyond the pale and worthy of having violence directed at them.

Of course it’s not racist.

British values are taught in schools, prisons, universities etc as these are the rules we should all stand by.

If you don’t want to abide by British values then you don’t need to live in Britain.

Unless our government addresses why the far right is rising nothing will change.

Desperate people who feel they are becoming poorer & more and more unsafe in their local areas will always veer to the side of protecting what is theirs. It shocks me that people are still shocked by this. its a tale as old as time.

Divide and rule?

So why doesn't the woman go to West Midlands Police and make a complaint ?

How do you know she hasn't? Maybe the police are in the process of investigating a complaint and if/when they make any arrests, it will be announced. These things can take time, after all they will have to identify, trace and arrest any alledged attacker. If anyone does end up in court I am sure Reform will help with their legal costs.

OK well that's fine.
So far, as I understand it, West Midlands Police are saying they haven't received a complaint, which is the first stage.
We will await the outcome.

And why is it that this sort of thing is a lot more common from the left? They’re so full of hatred and bitterness. It really does speak volumes about these people, that they celebrate the death of someone who holds different views, but so predictable.

Huh? He said school shootings were a price to pay for bearing arms and the right to automatic weapons without checks …he said large numbers of children could be murdered with firearms and it was an acceptable price to pay…it was this that was raised in relation to his death …his view that there are acceptable numbers of victim for the right to bear arms..he was one of his self stated acceptable victims…that’s not celebration that’s deep deep sorrow

That's going do well isn't it, especially in the schools near me that have 90 percent foreign speaking children at 4 years old. Tell 4 year olds in 200 languages that Britain is a democracy and everything will be fine.

And yet the left are in favour of foreign aid, universal healthcare, health and safety. Public health programmes. Legal protections from pollution and other harms…all these things save millions of deaths ….strange that.
