Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

The posters complaining need to be honest, did you come on mn and complain about pro pal marches with keffiyehs hiding faces and placards wishing death to Israel etc?

If I had been seriously assaulted on a demo and my friends had footage of it I would be down at the local cop-shop in record time and would have made sure that heads would roll.
Fortunately it never happened, because I and my friends who were protesters didn't antagonise people.
We stuck to the rules, did our protest, made our point and left.

I'd say 300 angry men gathered somewhere in protest, even without balaclavas, are intimidating to most women regardless of their skin colour. The tension would have been palpable. No woman wants to be near that as violence can erupt at any time.

I get you a bit. Face coverings can of course be unsettling but context matters. They weren't marauding, they were not looting JD sports, they were not setting fire to buildings as we've seen in so many 'peaceful protests'.
