Rise of far right

Sillyme1 · Today 07:00

Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

'And no of course I don’t want hundreds of undocumented, unvetted men entering the country - why would I? When have I ever said that I do?'

Well you're far right then. Thems the lefties rules sorry.

I am a leftist and so that would be my rule too apparently but obviously it’s not is it.

I care about equal rights for women.
I am not racist, ableist or misogynistic - therefore I don’t align with right winged views and therefore I am not right winged.

I don’t know why you’d openly align yourselves with men who hate women (and seemingly find it funny).

ruffler45 · Today 12:35

the situation is recoverable but will take some tough choices. Labour have shown they’re not prepared to do that - the mildest of welfare reform was utterly rejected by the party.

Have we got any politicians who are willing to make tough choices. Most want a quiet life, kick issues down the road and dont want any mud to stick to them. I have a feeling it is going to get very very ugly.

AyeupDuck · Today 12:36

@user35637865986 Some people like to be seen to be doing good, it makes them feel better about themselves especially if they messed up in their earlier lives. Most people just want to get on with life they don’t feel the need to virtue signal though the internet means they can signal all they want without even having to get off their arse these days.

I have a relative who is an absolute shithead but because they post likes to animal charities they feel good about themselves. Doesn’t change who they fundamentally are.

So you think I insulted myself (and everyone posting on this thread) so that I get likes off people that no one else can see???

Make it make sense.

A couple of posters got offended.
The majority did not.
I wonder why.

You have to ask yourself why you would take such a general post, that barely anyone got offended over to heart.

I thought it silly but typical of the left. But I’m glad you’re counting yourself in it.. or something.

DontEatTheMushies · Today 12:36

Its that fact that its all part of their agenda.

This is what they want...panic, division - because its easier to rule over a divided population!
It does make clear the lack of education and understanding around so much as well. And I find it instance that say, someone who literally has never worked a day, or are thieving scum, bleat on about other people coming and taking their jobs. Clueless to the fact that they need to look up. That is where we see the cause of the drop in quality of life. Not with any one race or religion - but rather with a class!

Monty Python summed it up perfectly decades ago!

The desire for a backwards slide in rights is alarming. I am genuinely worried for my daughter, and trying to make sure my son doesn't get sucked into Tateish beliefs ( so many of the boys at their school are really sexist and some already have charges for assaulting girlfriends!).

I did see something about Neo feudalism - need to go and read more into that.

To repeat my post at 12.23.
"Apparently the 'victim' of that attack hasn't contacted West Midlands Police about it, even though they have asked her to come forward.
I wonder why ?"

No idea, but so what? The attack still happened. We all saw it.

Jollygreygiantess · Today 12:37

amber763 · Today 12:28

Do you think people are far right because of their concerns about immigration, rapes and rise in crime?

If I knew what "Far Right" was I might be able to answer your question.

If no one wants this, what’s the argument about anyway.

More gaslighting.

Gaslighting in what way?- do you even know what gaslighting is?

So you agree that not wanting undocumented/unvetted men entering the country illegally is not far right? Well done, you got there in the end!

Now perhaps spread the word and enlighten other lefties who are still struggling with this fact.

The Police don't care if it was seen by my Aunt Fanny, Wonko the Wonder Dog and Ole' Uncle Tom Cobbley an' all.
No Police force will take action unless they have a complaint.
And, so far, the person concerned has not come forward.
That raises a few questions.

Let’s not get childish.

I’m fed up with certain posters pretending to get offended and playing the victim card or resorting to childish replies.

I assume you an adult woman/man and can converse without resorting to acting like you’re on a playground (not just directed at you btw).

Well you're far right then. Thems the lefties rules sorry.

And yet............they have been doing well stopping them in recent months. And it was the Right that cause the increase.

That's part of what I find HILARIOUS about Fartage - he is using the mess he caused as his soap box!

I worry more about the wee rats that my daughter has to go to school with, who have equally ratty parents. Given that is where the danger statistically and historically is to women.

But in general.............I do find the irony in the UK freaking out about people coming in that they don't want, and the fear of taking over. Then they start the whole 'Christian country' stuff.

Matthew 7:12: "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

So, like.....all the colonialism should, by Christian beliefs, come right back at us 😂

No wonder they are so scared...They know what's coming.

No the whole of the EU is seeing similar. Hence the election results last night in response. No Brexit there.

ETA bar Poland and a couple with more hardline policies.

No one has ever said this is far right.

This is you trying to find something to be offended about.

If you don’t align with far right winded views and don’t call yourself far right - then you are not far right.

This thread is about the increase in far right extremism - where people align themselves with those views and many openly support it.

Like the men ‘protesting’ at Dover - if you don’t align with far right views then you shouldn’t be in support of these men.

You can want to solve the immigration issue and not stand with these women hating thugs.

How exactly is having a foreign born parent intrinsically a bad thing? People must be judged on their actions and their character, not their origins. Saying 'treating a native population like this is inhumane' absolutely reeks of xenophobia. Who forces British-born people to have less children? Not the immigrants who are having kids. If you want more babies in this country, your anger should be directed at the lack of adequate support for childcare.

I don't want more babies in this country. We are not benefiting from the massive population increase through immigrants at all. Who cares what ludicrous names you call it. The native population is actually quite stable over time in comparison to the constant hysterical reporting about decline. I have no interest in paying tax for foreigners maternity services and childcare. Again, use whatever ineffectual leftist critisism you like. Millions of us don't want to live in a majority Indian Pakistani African Arab country. You can't force us to stop saying it.

JHound · Today 12:46

Lemonraider · Today 12:30

Using "melanin" is your attempt to patronise.

We count skin colour and thnicity because immigrants demanded it. Do you laugh at the immigrants that demanded this every time you tick your box on a monitoring form?

How is it patronising? She references skin tone several times. How is me stating that “patronising”?

Also evidence that “immigrants demanded reference to skin tone” given reference to skin tone has been happening in Britain for centuries?

Grammarnut · Today 12:49

There is no far right. Instead we've been suffering under far left extremism for decades. The open borders extremism of Western governments despite constantly promising at the ballot box to reduce immigration is driving the population to distraction. If voting does not work what are people supposed to do?

With regard to the boats, the hotels and posting the illegals all around the country to villages and market towns it is very hard for the government to justify what it’s doing (and not doing) in moral terms. We know these aren’t real asylum seekers, we know some will commit crimes, some may even be terrorists, and at best they’ll cause massive social unrest and be a welfare burden for the rest of their lives. Thus the government is failing in its basic duty to keep citizens safe.

And even if all that wasn’t true, the British people have clearly expressed for years that they don’t want these migrants here, so the government is also ignoring the will of the people. Hence if what the government is doing is legal, then clearly those laws are wrong. It can’t in any meaningful sense be legal to flood the country with dangerous illegal migrants.

On this issue our government is illegitimate on every level. I expect the protests to get bigger and more organised with the whole NGO/state apparatus that facilitates this being targeted.

To be fair, the British people have been objecting to foreigners taking up residence since at least 1381, and probably earlier, e.g. when the Romans arrived.
However, those arrivals were small in number - and we are still mostly ruled by the 200,000 who arrived in 1066 - but current levels of immigration are causing social upheaval to which many object. We should at least listen, mainly because if we do not the far right will. Oh, they already did that and now look where we are.
On another topic, shouldn't the Bayeux Tapestry now stay in England where it was made?

Viviennemary · Today 12:50

If the far right becomes stronger then the main parties hzve only themselves to blame. A country must have the right to control its borders.

I think the biggest thing they need to do if they want to stop this is developing the skills within the UK to fill those job shortages. And encouraging people into those roles.

Agreed.

YANBU OP. My local town has loads of these new “patriots” marching and protesting. They are chanting really racist stuff, making Nazi salutes, intimidating people. Several are making money as “content creators” by filming stuff very selectively - almost all are googlable for their criminal records. It’s not remotely a centrist movement of people concerned about immigration.

My town the same these people are coming from other places to raise the flags & recruit far right ideology. The town has fought back by having a lower the flags group to take down the flags & the public let them know where the flags are. The council have said they will prosecute for the monies used to take down the flags on lamposts , so now they put on lamposts only belonging the highways agency. They raise the flags have organised couple of marches where about 50 people turned up LTF had a counter march with about 150 people. No violence reported.
