Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

Whatever the woman's motives to heckle and disrupt, the way she was brutally manhandled was disgraceful. By the way, calling a heckler a fascist but simultaneously refusing to call a horde of balaclava'd men who disrupted public services 'fascists' reveals shocking double standards.

But no one wants this remember... Or do they. But some get the labels lobbed.

I didn’t go to the protests at the weekend because I’m not in the country at the moment but I have been to the protests in London and felt extremely safe.

I wonder if the women in Afghanistan feel safe when they are out on the streets? Oh wait, I forgot that they are not allowed outside unless they have permission from their husband, please do keep telling me how bad the men are in the UK though when we walk outside freely here and don’t have to obtain permission to do so. If anyone is woman hating it’s the men coming in on boats because they are from a culture where women are not even second class citizens.

Google response is that 19% of uk population is foreign born and 40% of newborns have at least one foreign born parent. 'Overrun' is not a completely inaccurate word, especially in some areas where the whole demographic and culture has changed. We've had muslim MPs standing up in parliament arguing for blasphemy laws to protect Islamic texts. How will that call get stronger over the next decades? I don't want my children to grow up in a country where free speech has been eroded and critical thinking isn't allowed in case it offends someone. Maybe you've been living somewhere which hasn't seen the massive demographic and cultural change yet but eventually you will.

Yes I should have called them young, foreign men arriving with no skills and a poor attitude to woman. Arriving illegally and making locals feel intimidated.

If these men were white and had all the same attributes I would also want them stopped.

One of my friends know the woman in Brighton who was raped by those 3 men whi were recently jailed.

i think it’s fair to say her life has been changed (fucking ruined) by those men.

The woman who was pulled off her chair and attacked was trying to unfurl a banner saying "Farage works for billionaires". Which tbf is a fairly mainstream view. She didn't get a chance to actually speak. She is a member of Climate Resistance who also heckled Reeves at the Labour conference. The group don't have a reputation for violent disorder and seem fairly even handed in challenging politicians from all shades.

Who knows but I find it shocking to see that level of violence at the Reform conference. I don't understand what's centrist about that Jenrick's "boohoo" reaction to the incident- what a gentleman! Personally, I find that reaction morally repugnant!

I think I saw her being interviewed by Talk TV outside the main hall at B'ham. She said she had bruises (which she didn't show the camera) and her hair was pulled and that one of the Security guards stood on her hand when they were trying to lift her off the floor to carry her out.
So, it would be logical to have presented herself to the nearest cop-shop a.s.a.p. before the bruises faded.
So far, crickets.

Whether or not Reform supporters or even people who post on Mumsnet are racist is simply not the point. Racists are allowed to vote as well.
Currently this issue which could easily decide who forms the next government of this country is being given to the right by our present government. And this is because the people who lead it and who led the last one and the one before that have crossed their fingers and hoped it would go away. Either sensible experienced politicians and civil servants deal with this issue or inexperienced and in Mr Farage's case clearly corrupt politicians will.
