No. I am however worried about remaining in this dire state of where we currently are.
I live in Scotland. Not in a big city. Chatting to hairdresser last week. She lives in a small village. Her local shop has black/brown men hanging about outside. She admits to feeling intimidated. On entering the shop they are playing prayer music. This is an ex mining village which is now being used it seems for these men coming across here.
I live in a bigger town about ten miles away and in recent weeks have noticed an increase in the numbers of young black men usually on their own talking loudly on their phones in a foreign language. A trip to the local park with the dog had me experiencing a surreal out of body feeling as everywhere I looked there was black/brown people. I live somewhere that traditionally would have almost none.
I actually started to feel like I was the only white person there.
The hairdresser told me two of her other customers that morning had both said similar things. They lived in different places to her and I but all within a non city part of Scotland. Her clients are mostly my age and older. So I'm white, in my fifties and retired from a professional job. She has lots of middle aged and older ladies as clients. Yes we are all noticing and we are all feeling frightened and angry.
I can't get a GP appointment because the NHS is falling apart (lets not kid ourselves).
Our young people can't get jobs. Our finances are dire. We have another short term PM (again lets not kid ourselves)
I feel utterly outraged at what is happening to this country and how we have no control it seems over our borders. I was reading about the protests last night and was firmly on the side on the men who were at least trying to show how lots of us feel. Of course that does not matter what we want. The police just 'did their jobs' and chased away the concerned citizens and welcomed the black, young men (not doubt with no skills) into our failing economy country.
I've never broken a law in my life. I did a very boring job after uni. I can actually see myself going on a protest soon for the first time in my life.
We need a restore government. Wanting to put your own citizens first is not 'far right'. It's just sensible. If we didn't have such a reputation for 'fairness' which lets be honest is now being touted round the world as complete bloody mugs with no ability to stand up for themselves.
If the IMF bail us out (which it seems they couldn't afford to do anyway) I hope at least an upside is the 'asylum seekers' (aye right!!) will stop coming.
Like the vast majority of people I have no issue with real asylum seekers applying to the UK for help. That is not what is going on here.
So what happens when our already shrinking police force can no longer control the amount of young black men they have let in here. We already know the police is struggling. Criminals are getting out of prison early. Frontline officers are already scarce and are leaving in droves due to the stress (source friend who is front line police officer). Should we just sit and wait until our country is actually being taken over by immigrants and we all just have to do what we are told.
Yes the Nazis did terrible things to the jews and you know what that just crept up on society bit by bit. Good people were concerned but too frightened to speak or take action. Now if feels like our own british citizens are being boiled like frogs except now the water is getting really hot despite us having years to get used to the decline.
If restore is what we need to vote for then bring it on. Or reform but I feel more in line with restore's policies having read them.
I am glad the german citizens are making a stand against problems in their own country. I hope we have the balls (or opportunity) to do the same.
I applaud the men who tried to take a stand last night.
I looked at the small line of police officers (who all seemed about twelve, small, skinny and not too convinced that they were on the right side) and for a brief moment I had a fantasy of them turning and joining our brave citizens and telling the young black men to get back in the water and fuck off. No, no, no. That wouldn't be 'nice'. That wouldn't be 'fair'. That wouldn't be 'tolerant'
Good on Germany for making a stand. Good on our men for trying to make a stand.
Your sincerely
White, middle aged, uni educated, retired woman.
