AIBU to think migrant sex crime data should be published? And to wonder why Labour are blocking the release of that data?

Labour Blocks Release of Migrant Crime Data

'Victims of serious crimes and their families have joined forces to demand that the Labour government publish detailed data on offences committed by foreign nationals, accusing ministers of withholding information that is “clearly and legitimately in the public interest”.

Among the signatories are victims of high-profile sexual offences and families of murder victims. One signatory is a 14-year-old victim of a sexual assault in Epping allegedly committed by an illegal immigrant, in the same Essex town where asylum seekers were housed at the controversial Bell Hotel.
Fiona Goddard, a survivor of rape-gang grooming who has campaigned publicly about her experiences, has also signed the letter.

Eight relatives of Rhiannon Whyte, a hotel worker murdered by a Sudanese national, are also among those backing the demand.'

Collateral damage then, according to some on this thread.

'I beg you, I beg you, don't hurt me... Please let me go.'

Those were the words uttered by a helpless 13-year-old girl as she was allegedly dragged into a public bathroom by a group of 7 Egyptian migrants in Catania on the Italian island of Sicily last week.

This is heartbreaking.

Another life ruined.

And for what?

Don’t bite people…don’t bite.

Ignore.

If we ignore then we are complacent.

Thankfully the poll is embarrassingly low.

The suffragists, abolitionists, environmentalists, feminists and peace activists were considered loons. If that’s what you want to call us, then so be it.

Ok good, that's settled then.

Thats awful 😖 😱

If it were true about Germany, it would be awful. Thankfully, its propagandist lies.

Mostly false: “A significant part of violence against women comes from immigrant communities”

“And then we must also acknowledge that a significant proportion of this violence originates from immigrant communities in the Federal Republic of Germany.” On 25 March 2026, the German Bundestag debated the issue of violence against women in the wake...

I don’t think the public will give Labour what they’re after. If they win or lose the appeal.

What is not false are the crimes, and they mostly cause suffering to women and girls.

It then falls to the gov to do something about that.

Denmark immigrant sex crime issues

Non-Western Immigrants Commit One-Third of Rapes and Violent Crimes in Denmark
29.6% of the country’s violent crimes and 32.4% of rapes are committed by perpetrators

That's not in the UK.

So is there a different category of migrants on the continent ?

I’m doing other stuff and it’s just as easy for you to google as it is me. I’ll look up stuff I’m interested in, others can too.

But you’ve claimed stuff as fact, leading people to believe you had sourced it. Now you claim you ‘will’ look it up. These statements don’t match up.

GunnelVallquist · 29/08/2026 14:02

I’d like to know how certain posters view the Cologne incident on New Year’s Eve 2015.

That was unprecedented.

But I’m not going to ask them as I know I’d just get some really stupid replies.

And according to the migration observatory report Migrants and Crime dated 18 August 2026 this is no higher than expected and in line with the general population-

Most offences never lead to a conviction, so actual rates of offending among different groups in the population are unknown. However, non-UK citizens made up 13.1% of people given cautions or convictions in 2024, and 12.1% of the prison population in June 2025. This was roughly similar to their share of the adult population.

The available data suggest that non-citizens were more likely to be convicted or incarcerated for drug offences and less likely for violent offences, compared to British citizens.

As of 27 May 26 Commons Library report 10.7 million people were living in the UK who were born abroad which is 16% of the total population.

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn06077/

The same migration observatory report specifically states that in 2025, 1,181 foreign nationals were convicted for sexual offences which account for 15.4% of all sexual offence convictions. (See chart screen shot)

which again is in line with the general population and shows no added risk of sexual assault due to being a foreign national.

Thank you for this important, factual post.

You profess to care for women and girls yet refuse to give a direct link.

It makes no sense and is similar to service helplines with chat boxes when there's a serious issue.

Why would posters believe that the migrants/asylum seekers in Britain are so much more law-abiding than their counterparts in European countries where data is collected?

Another point is the change in public behaviour. So people might trumpet that there are far fewer child abductions/murders than in the past, ergo there are fewer perpetrators. But actually it is because nowadays most people don’t let their children out of their sight . One can imagine that the cry will go out, “Migrants are perfectly safe!” if they are sited in a village - but no account is taken of the fact that women and girls will have amended their own behaviour accordingly, ie not walking alone/home from school etc.

You are absolutely correct. Which is exactly why data needs to be analysed by a trained professional who understands the complexity of the factors involved in the analysis and not released to the public in its raw form.
