Am I correct that the other victims were 5 lads travelling in one car the wrong way up the motorway? EXACTLY the same as the 5 Irish lads who died a few days ago travelling the wrong way up a motorway too? Surely not twice in a week? Is there some sort of mental social media thing going on, telling kids to drive up the wrong way? Like a dare? Just cannot believe it happened once, let alone twice. Just devastating.

Really think it’s about time they bring in the law to stop young drivers carrying passengers until they’re at least 21. I'm not saying where I live, or what I am, but for all you know Ireland is as much my country as it is yours. Either way, I know and love plenty of Irish people, and the ones I know have sympathy for the families of the boys who died, as well as for the police and their families.

I'm amazed that saying that not all of Ireland - 7 million people - are of one view on this has produced such a strong reaction from so many people. Even if I didn't know a single Irish person, it's just not possible that everyone will be completely of one mind on this. Presumably even in North Korea, people think different thoughts on things? Ireland has its fair share of tofu eating snowflakes, doesn't it? I'm sure some of them don't just think "fuck 'em".

What lies have I told? What have I denied? I've said the boys' deaths are their own fault. I've said I feel mostly anger towards them. I just don't think their families or communities are to blame. Even if it was poor parenting that led to these deaths, I really do think the mothers have been punished more than sufficiently for that, and we don't need to also mock their spelling.

That would have made no difference at all, the underclass these families live in couldn't care less about the law. All that would do it make life tougher for the rest of us

To be fair to those lads they certainly don't look as though they are the brightest buttons in the box. They were probably ignoramus's of a level of their own. It would be a great tribute to the deceased policemen if all media refused to comment on the perpetrators at all, any aspect of them, their lives, their locality, their families, their funerals, nothing. Blank them.

Focus solely on the sadness, shock, anger, rage and sympathy etc. associated with the senseless loss of two policemen.

I realise we can't stop social media posts, but other outlets can restrict their reporting to the deaths of the police surely?
