Crash on A66 that killed two police officers and 5 others…

bookworm1982 · 22/08/2026 18:53

Am I correct that the other victims were 5 lads travelling in one car the wrong way up the motorway? EXACTLY the same as the 5 Irish lads who died a few days ago travelling the wrong way up a motorway too? Surely not twice in a week? Is there some sort of mental social media thing going on, telling kids to drive up the wrong way? Like a dare? Just cannot believe it happened once, let alone twice. Just devastating.

Can we have a conversation about what the fuck is wrong with this generation of young men/boys yet?

bafta16 · 23/08/2026 18:15

shuggles · 23/08/2026 18:13

Why is that frightening? The overwhelming majority of people have no sympathy for the 5 baby-faced yobs who caused this crash.

My sympathies go to the two brave police officers that were senselessly killed and their families.

So much wrong....Tic tok, their stupidity, their lack of boundaries/parenting. They were human beings though.

bafta16 · 23/08/2026 18:12

Were they travellers?

I don't know? Why are you asking me? Sorry - I don't know what this has to do with my post?

I agree that those young men and boys were degenerates. So please explain to me, how were they able to have relationships and partners?

OonaStubbs · 23/08/2026 18:18

I think the era of "human rights" taking precedence over EVERYTHING is coming to an end, and rightfully so.

Offspring from other degenerate families.

What do you mean when you say "crack down on travellers"? Do you mean all of them? Or just the ones breaking the law? Why just / especially traveller law-breakers?

You mention travellers?

DaisyDooley · 23/08/2026 18:23

Fuck,
.I’ve looked at the pictures of the officers and I’m crying again.
Ive spent all weekend either crying or outraged.

WHAT is this country coming to?
Sorry not sorry but I blame the left wing liberals, the bloated welfare state that gives out more money the more you breed with no onus on paying for your own kids and lives, the lawmakers for arresting women who tweet ‘hurty words’ rather than arresting thugs who shoplift, small time drug dealers, nick cars, ‘low level theft’, mug people, intimidate communities on their off road bikes & quads (which should all be squashed).
I blame the government for letting in hoards of people who bring all their families and housing - then let communities deteriorate and turn into 3rd world shitholes . There’s no national pride and anybody who has any is called racist.
I blame parents for not bringing up their kids with a work ethic and to respect the law.
I blame the IDIOTS who make excuse
after excuse and play the racisim card for raping gangs/travellers so much it’s worn me out.
DEI. Bullshit.
European Court of Human Rights? Where are our rights to stop thugs killing innocent people?
Government after government has led us to this point.
In the 80s I remember feeling so lucky - because I just thought things would keep getting better. That everything would improve. I thought I was living in a marvellous era.
I realise now that was as good as it gets.
Reported Rape - up by 800% in the last 24 yrs.
The government giving leaflets to people here illegally telling them they ‘might’ get in trouble if they rape us! And we pay for the leaflets!!
Anna Turkey (Redcar MP , Labour) feeling sorry for the 5 dead twats rather than condemning them. Why dont the authorities stop these ‘baloon (deliberate sp) release’ shitty events? Why do we have to ‘be nice’ to everyone?

I feel like I did the day Lee Rigby was murdered.
We are fucked. The nice decent people don’t breed enough to keep the scum at bay.
And now I’m going to dry my eyes and try to cook a carbonara.
Im going to light a candle tonight for those two poor poor police officers whose lives were needlessly snuffed out.

Nope, not frightening one bit.

Sick of all the #bekind shit.

It’s got us into all sorts of trouble.

Tootles26 · 23/08/2026 18:24

I live in the area. I have zero sympathy for the 5 beings that caused this (and thats being polite) absolute scum of the earth and nature has dealt with them accordingly. Absolute sympathy and respect for the police men who lost their lives and massive condolences for their families and all emergency services involved.

Well presumably their girlfriends are from similar backgrounds, with similar values and lack of morals. That still doesn't explain why it's nearly always young men committing these sorts of crimes.

People who have 'ballon' releases don't tend to be big on regrets but I think this one will be an exception - they will regret speaking out.
I really hope the 'ballon' releases can be stopped.

The family of a lad who died on a motorised e-bike recently around here (driving in a tunnel where bikes are banned), launched fireworks near where it happened as a 'tribute' despite all the warnings about wildfires, bbqs and fireworks at the time. He'd previously been convicted of wielding a machete, had other convictions, but the family tributes were all the 'lit up a room', 'do anything for anybody', 'loved by everybody' type etc.. I'm sure sometimes lads become tearaways despite being from decent families, but 9 out of 10 times, you read about or see the families of kids like this and understand why they were the way they were.

Absolutely right. 'Be Kind' increasingly means 'shut up'. Well, normal, ordinary, law abiding people have had enough of putting up with this sort of behaviour. Now we wait and see if the government will actually do anything proactive to address this. I have my doubts.

BeAvidBiscuit · 23/08/2026 18:32

The trouble is that when being chased by police, those trying to escape know that the more dangerously they drive, the more chance there is that the police pursuit will be called off. The result is increasingly dangerous driving by those trying to escape and incidents such as this.

'Especially as it turns out the boys aren't even travellers'

'Anyway, turns out the boys aren't even travellers apparently. Which begs a few questions, to my mind, but...'

Why do you keep bringing up travellers? You don't know, then you do know.

It. Does. Not. Matter. They were feral scum it does not matter if they hail from a traveller's background or were born and bred in a rough estate in Middlesbrough. Crime gangs all the same sort of trash.

You are frightening.

Really? You love what those lads did do you? I don't understand your bizarre melodramatic response! What are you finding frightening? Like the lads in Ireland, these lads where known local criminals with parents that sat back and supported it and you think the child is going fare better raises by the same family that are happy with criminality?

Rpop · 23/08/2026 18:40

JeremiaBoogle · 22/08/2026 19:24

Yes, it's an absolute shocker isn't it. Seven dead.

Just the week before the crash that killed the five boys on the M9 in Ireland there was another crash caused by a wrong way on the motorway on the M50 (Dublin). Nine people injured in that one (eight on the stolen car - one in the car that was hit). Both in the same "gang" with posts on TicTok.

There's been plenty wrong way on the motorway before and after these two incidents here.

Do you think the teenagers (assuming all of these have been) genuinely don’t get how dangerous this is? There is a sense that they are invincible or something? Or at the very least don’t understand the laws of physics - if you travel towards one another you’ll hit each other extremely quickly. I just don’t get it. It’s utterly horrendous.

GunnelVallquist · 23/08/2026 18:43

You’re so right; it does tend to mean ‘shut up’ now.

And it’s the same across the board…be it to do with gender ideology, illegal immigration or this.

It’s beyond frustrating because you shouldn’t be made to feel like a lesser person because you have valid concerns!

’Lit up a room’ - yes, by way of arson, presumably.

With the exception of the police officers, nothing of value was lost.

They drive like that when they aren't been chased by the police though. 100mph through built up areas risking killing people. I dont know what the answer is but I absolutely support police pursuing them until they can get a stinger thing down. All happens so fast though, obviously hard go get everything in place and horrific incidents like this can easily occur.
