Crash on A66 that killed two police officers and 5 others…

Am I correct that the other victims were 5 lads travelling in one car the wrong way up the motorway? EXACTLY the same as the 5 Irish lads who died a few days ago travelling the wrong way up a motorway too? Surely not twice in a week? Is there some sort of mental social media thing going on, telling kids to drive up the wrong way? Like a dare? Just cannot believe it happened once, let alone twice. Just devastating.

I saw a community centre allowing kids to play Grand Theft Auto. And yet, we wonder why young men are violent.

The occupants of the other vehicle – three sisters and a seven-year-old boy – suffered serious injuries in the crash and remain in hospital. Yesterday, the mother of Mr Saddington’s one-year-old son posted on social media: ‘What am I supposed to do without ur daft phone calls and u torching (sic) me life’s so cruel.’

Other victims were named locally as Michael Ray, Theo Rae and Cole Worthy.

It is understood Mr Saddington and his companions had close links to the traveller community.

No mention of the poor family seriously injured in hospital and how life was actually very cruel to them. Cruel due to the stupid behaviour of these young men.

The awful person I knew even had a go fund me made to help his wife and kids. Since he was domestically violent, never worked a day in his life and was in and out of prison, I'll bet his wife and kids were helped enormously just by him being dead.

The Go-fund me was made by his sister who hadn't spoken to him for years, none of his family had. Attached was a photo he'd used on one of those thug-life social media posts. He looked rough as f* and had one of his illegal hare-coursing dogs that he had had confiscated by Police on a lead.

Some people have no shame.

Why is their bad spelling relevant? This sort of snide disdain is part of why minority cultures close ranks, and make a show of closing ranks, at times like this. If you can't find any empathy for a grieving mother, partly because she can't spell, of course she's going to stick to her own, and quite possibly hate you back.

And surrounded by family and friends who think the sun shines out of their bum. The whole culture is wrong. These are not travellers btw.

It is staggering isn't it. No, he wasn't 'their' headache because he tragically was involved in killing police officers. The childish minimising is sickening. 'Our headache' ffs.

There are huge problems between travellers and non-travellers, some of which create the conditions in which this kind of behaviour happens (including possibly callousness to the victims, because they're "outsiders")

If my DS were entertaining such deplorable behaviour, the consequences would be most severe. I'm not afraid to parent.

A car in the wrong hands is a lethal weapon.
Taking a vehicle without consent should be punished with harsh mandatory sentences in order to protect the community and the individuals concerned. When will we wake up to the fact that excusing criminality just doesn’t work?

These scrotes make towns and cities shit abd people's lives less pleasant and safe on a daily basis even when they're not killing decent people in head on collisions.
People are fed up and don't need mealy-mouthed tellings off.

I do think the best parenting in the world cannot always stop criminality. It's the pride these parents have in their 'top lads' which is appalling. Demonstrating why they were such little shits with mummy and daddy waving them off on their next joy ride.

The Irish Government making travellers a minority group was a spectacular own goal.

So now any justified criticism is only provoking accusations of racism and prejudice instead of examining behaviour and the negatives of the culture.

My Great Grandmother was an Irish traveller who got out after my Great Grandfather (her husband and 1st cousin) was murdered by another traveller. Took her kids and moved to England. Even changed the surname.

Best thing she ever could have done. Not only did I go to school but to University. I cringe whenever I see our former family name in the press, it's never a good story.

I think this is the nub of it. @Puffinsandcoffee may be genuine (but I have my suspicions), but unfortunately simply sounds like they have just written an A level essay on Social Identity Theory and is bursting to tell us of their knowledge.

Like I have already said, this thread, on this morning, is probably not the place for that.

They were taking about the incident in Ireland, not the one in which the two police officers died.
