AIBU to be angry that my husband is unconcerned about women’s safety?

To be pissed off with my husband. I said how upset I am that the child abuse and rape leaflet from the government is judged as necessary and we are continuing to let these men into our country who pose a threat to women. He just shrugged - I said doesn’t it bother you these men are coming into our society. We have daughters , I am a woman. I absolutely do not feel safe anymore where we live and would not walk on my own anymore. He said no not really. Absolutely furious with him. Does he not have to care as he’s a big tall man? I’m so pissed off, I’ve walked off and he’s given me the ick.

Where have I proposed a barrier to change? I’ve said the only way - given the scale of existing checks and the inability of any check to predict with 100% accuracy - is to ban all men from perceived high risk countries. That means from seeking asylum, coming here on a visa for work or education, or coming for a holiday. That’s quite a big change. I’m asking if you support that.

Everyone can do their bit to campaign for things they think matter, whether that’s writing to their MP or putting up a banner or whatever. If all anyone did was vote for one of the options nothing would ever change.

Of course. But you are proposing ideas so I’m interested if you really believe in them.

I don’t think it’s necessary, because as I’ve said all groups of men come with risk and reward and there is no perfect system.

For those of you who consider all men from these countries dangerous, I can see no other solution.

You’re a bit muddled in the posts. Your suggestions are not what you believe should happen, so what is?

I’m not sure why my beliefs are so important to you that you need further clarification. I have explained what I think. If you’re confused by that, it’s not a problem for me.
