Hi everyone so I got a coil swap over last week. From the mirena to the Kyleena. They told me to abstain from sex for 7 days or use condoms. But we did not once. This was last Tuesday I got the coil swap over. And I had sex the Saturday the few days before. I done a pregnancy test today and I swear I see a second line! But would a pregnancy test show up this early on?! HELP

I had a positive at 7dpo. He's now 11. I think you're pregnant, OP.

I’d argue that for many women emotionally it is. Few are Blase about it,

Maybe. I think many women are embarrassed to admit that for them it was no big deal, because society expects women to be emotional about it.

Anarchy99 · 19/08/2026 16:47

If you live in a country with free and safe abortion, then an unplanned pregnancy isn’t high stakes though.

I disagree.
You are right about being able to have choice and access, but I don't think any woman who has had an abortion has not been impacted emotionally by it, whether they were entirely at peace with their decision or not.

Lexy2345 · 19/08/2026 17:02

What will your boyfriend say if you are pregnant? Will he support you, whatever your decision?

tanya9995 · 19/08/2026 16:27

Does your positive look anything like mine ? In the pictures. Thanks

You really do sound desperate to be pregnant, as you keep replying to all the posters who are or were pregnant with similar timelines between testing 🙄
It reads like you have done it intentionally and are trying to get attention by feigning concern while doing a little teehee at the same time. You sound excited and impatient like someone who is TTC rather than anxious about “accidentally” getting pregnant after having unprotected sex multiple times a day when you shouldn’t be.
Weird

if you had condoms available but chose to have unprotected sex deep down in the depths of your subconscious you must be wanting a baby or you would never have taken that risk

Lexy2345 · 19/08/2026 17:09

I agree, it does sound like an 'accidental' pregnancy. Having unprotected sex multiple times when advised to use condoms? I wonder if the partner was aware that this advice had been given? If he has 2 older children, he may be horrified at the thought his relatively new girlfriend is now expecting his baby.

tanya9995 · 19/08/2026 13:07

Nope it wasn’t planned but I do take full responsible for bein stupid and not using condoms but I’m not the only one on the earth that this has happened to. I think I’m gettin judged harshly

”judged harshly”. Lols. What do you think happens if you have regular unprotected sex? This isn’t rhetorical. I’m genuinely interested in your answer. I expect lots of us are.

Sometimes?? Sounds like at least 9 times to me.

Hi OP

I feel very well versed in the line eyes game, I have three kids now but on my path to getting them had a lot of fertility problems including ectopics which progress very slowly so I would constantly be taking pregnancy tests. I think over time I made a few conclusions, which were generally common sense.

the first was that the absolute earliest you could possibly test positive is 7-8 days after you ovulate. So I think based on your timeline (unless I’ve misunderstood) the only way any sex could be showing up as a pregnancy now would be the last Saturday/Sunday/monday and Tuesday. Any sex you had after last Tuesday is just not going to be showing up as a pregnancy yet, even if you are. Obviously that would then mean that you would’ve had to ovulate whilst your coil was still fitted, and the coils is supposed to prevent that from happening so there would’ve been an error with your contraception rather than anything to do with the crossover. I don’t know about the timelines with ovulating after coil removal but I would’ve thought it would be quite unlikely that you’d ovulate immediately after the coil is removed because your body wouldn’t have been producing the hormones to induce ovulation.

With all of my time trying to get pregnant I’ve done lots of testing and honestly I did see a clear line on day 8 on all of them (I have been pregnant 6 times), there were also many, many times that I had line eyes, faint lines developing 5-10 minutes after the test and even just total lines that were nothing. So I ended up over time concluding that unless it was a clear faint line and consistently showing over the course of the day, that it was probably just me seeing things or a false result. All of the times I was pregnant it wasn’t even a question whether there was a line (although if I’d done it on day 7 I suppose there would have been a very faint line and still a question). Either way, if you did have a faint positive today a progressing pregnancy would have a clearer line tomorrow.

I don’t think it’s even in the depths of her sub concious. It’s way way more at the front than that

Dumbledora8 · 19/08/2026 17:39

You seem quite excited at the possibility that you are pregnant. I hope it works out for you

It’s honestly not excited is it not very dangerous for the women being pregnant with a coil in? I’d just rather know. Don’t want anything bad to happen etc. I’m well aware I was stupid but I thought the risk would be extremelyyy low especially because it was a coil swap over? I thought they maybe just said to use condoms just incase and the risk be so low. I always hear people talking how it still took them a few months to be pregnant after the coil was removed

Hello! I'm not sure that's a line on the first picture you posted. There's a kind of tide mark maybe? The "line" isn't straight and the coloured area seems to fill over half of one side of the test. Do you see what I mean? Maybe it's just it's not a great photo, but to me there's no line there. It's just the contrast between the pink and the white areas that makes it look like there is a line there.

Not sure if this is better

No one can tell you for sure tonight by looking at those photos. And if you're worried about anything bad happening, there's nothing to be done about that tonight either, you will be ok, there's no need for panic. It's good that you've taken on board some of the posts about the potential dangers of getting pregnant with a coil so that if it turns out you are pregnant you will know to get checked out. I think you do need to have an honest conversation with yourself. You told the nurse you had not had unprotected sex before the coil changeover so she went ahead with the procedure and you deliberately continued having unprotected sex after the coil changeover. Did your boyfriend know you were effectively having unprotected sex for the last two weeks? Be honest with yourself and with him. Again, I genuinely hope for the best for all of you. I just really think you need to be honest about what it really is that you were wanting because no matter what the results tomorrow, there's some thinking to be done and a conversation to be had about that. I hope you get some good sleep tonight.

No but abortions tend to happen because of lack/failure of contraception.

If someone is pregnant, it’s a bit late to start pearl clutching.

Nobody is pearl clutching. Of course if contraception fails abortion should be an option. However the OP is possibly pregnant because - despite being told to use contraception for 7 days - she just didn't bother.

She said she probably wouldn’t abort, so what’s that got to do with anything? She isn’t planning an abortion.

She already explained her thinking, read all her posts. Name calling is totally unnecessary
