Hi everyone so I got a coil swap over last week. From the mirena to the Kyleena. They told me to abstain from sex for 7 days or use condoms. But we did not once. This was last Tuesday I got the coil swap over. And I had sex the Saturday the few days before. I done a pregnancy test today and I swear I see a second line! But would a pregnancy test show up this early on?! HELP

Just because you have a coil already I’d be asking for an early scan to determine your pregnancy is in the correct place, no ectopic or anything.

I hope when the shock wears off you can think straight.

Do another test in a few days and keep us updated. Maybe it’s one of those rare false positives. I don’t know enough about them but please keep on testing and as I say just because you have a coil already make sure they check it’s not in a tube. I only say because I remember being asked with my ectopic (it is a bit foggy) but I’m sure they asked me about a coil.

It’s grey so to me it looks more like an evap line. Test again in a few days, but for me, I would not consider that a positive test

I just done another one the same test and it’s negative ? The other one I done was first thing this mornin

First thing in the morning your urine is much stronger. Given that it was a faint positive this morning I wouldn't expect a positive later in the day. You'll need to retest with your first wee of the day tomorrow morning.

I think I can see faint lines on both but regardless with a coil you need to see someone asap as there is more chance of an ectopic. They will probably need to do a blood test to determine pregnancy and then go from there.

I agree, all that unprotected sex and doing a pregnancy test so soon definitely sounds like there was some intention there. If you thought you'd be okay you wouldn't be taking a pregnancy test so soon.

Sounds like you wanted to get pregnant, on some level anyway, so congratulations - it looks positive to me.

You definitely need to go to your GP to check everything out. My great aunt lost a baby when she got pregnant with a coil in and the baby formed around it.

OP, what has prompted you to test so soon? This is not a judgement, it's really a genuine question. Your actions do suggest that - whether consciously or not - somewhere at the back of your mind you were sort of hoping to get pregnant. It's just something to consider no matter what the outcome of the tests tomorrow. I hope it all works out for you either way.

Nobody can tell from that picture. But as mentioned, you need to test first thing in the morning and if it’s positive book a GP appointment

Looks positive so you might have already been pregnant. My auntie had two babies when she had the coil so it does happen.

Genuine question - are pregnancy tests sensitive enough to be a positive result within 7-10 days of conception ?
