AIBU to avoid someone who thinks she’s funny but actually hurt me.

At a casual lunch, a woman I know very slightly changed her seat to be near me, then suddenly started gouging the sole of my foot with her nails, I suppose as an attempt to tickle me.

As I have serious nerve pain in my feet, it was excruciating. It still hurts.
She didn’t stop until I had said No, stop, more than once.
I know she didn’t know about the nerve pain but still, who does that? And doesn’t stop when asked.
I wish I had screamed in her face.

AIBU to think she’s a loon who should be carefully avoided?

Get the fuck off me!!! Is what you should shout at her if this ever happens again!!!

Treebaubles · 14/08/2026 17:57

Honestly, just move your feet. Maybe she was trying to make a point that feet on sofa in someone else’s home is a tad grim? She shouldn’t have done it but why can’t you advocate for yourself? Put your feet on the floor? Tell her it hurts?

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 14/08/2026 18:01

such bizarre behaviour!

SweetnsourNZ · 14/08/2026 18:05

Marcipox · 14/08/2026 13:52

So it seems.

well I won’t put my feet up again. I didn’t realise it was so frowned on, I thought as they weren’t touching the sofa it was okay.

In some cultures it is a definite no no. Same with sitting on tables, benches or pillows. I still think it's weird that she did this though, and laughed. Adults don't usually correct other adults behaviour/manners as that in itself is considered bad manners.

FFSItsTooHot · 14/08/2026 18:06

WTAF?! She gouged your foot with her nails?! If anyone had tried that with me I think I'd have slapped them!

Enigma54 · 14/08/2026 18:13

Why would she touch your feet? How weird!

longtompot · 14/08/2026 18:16

@Marcipox yanbu at all. My dd has chronic pain in her feet, mainly her heels, and quite often sits with them up as it can be hard work trying to keep her heels off the floor all the time. She did have a boy at school when they were at the same house party, think it would be very funny to touch her feet. I don't think he would have found it as funny if she threw up over him which would have been a possibility.
Do you know this woman, and if you do is she aware of what you have in your feet?

Starrylawn · 14/08/2026 17:42

‘She was big and strong’
‘she didn’t stop’
‘I was pinned down’
’I couldn’t move and she wouldn’t stop’

fetish. Not real life

Report the thread then

are you?

The rest of us aren’t.

It’s quite an easy one to figure out by reading the actual thread!

If you care to scroll back I commented again at 14.54….so wind your neck in!!!!!!!

Illegally18 · 14/08/2026 11:24

You should have said that before. I imagined someone who was crouching under the table to tickle your feet. Either way, it's weird.

Same here…I thought she was in cafe!

Schoolchoicesucks · 14/08/2026 18:45

Hold on, do shoes off houses actually want people to be barefoot in their house?
I admit I have a weird foot phobia but I can't think of anything worse than disgusting bare feet all over my floors (and my sofa). Give me outdoor dog poo trace shoe soles any day over crusty fungal toenail hard skin cheesiness.
And touching someone's bare feet with your fingernail (even to gouge at it)? I need to lie down.

Why are feet more disgusting than anything else? You cope with people touching stuff I’m sure, with hands, that they’ve used to take their shoes off with, hold toilet roll to wipe their arses and touch door handles.

MerryUmberHedgehog · 15/08/2026 07:49

It is weird but I have to ask how she was able to even get near the soles of your feet and why didnt you just plant you feet on the floor?

Legolaslady · 15/08/2026 09:01

The OP still hasn't said exactly what the dialogue between them was

Beforehand, no dialogue, she was talking to someone else.

Then she moved to be next to me and dived over my feet, doing a sort of very hard scrabbling on the soles, while laughing as if we shared a regular tickling game.

I said No stop no not my feet
which she ignored at first but then stopped.

I told her how much my feet hurt ( she had commiserated with me on the group fb page only a few days before) and she said she didn’t know.
I told her the name of my condition and she said I couldn’t expect her to remember that, then she walked off, I don’t know where.

You ask them to. Ask if I’m a troll. Go on.

ILoveAGingerCat · 15/08/2026 10:55

I think most people believe that you're not a troll @Marcipox Flowers And I think most people believe you, it's just that we get threads being started on here from people - usually men - with fetish type content, trying to get other posters to tell all about their 'stories' to feed into his fetish. One of these fetishes is feet. (Womens feet moreso!)

I think MN would have deleted the thread by now if you'd been a fake. Try to ignore the troll accusations.

Okay thanks for clarifying. But regardless of whether you had a condition or not why would she think it's okay to touch your feet????

Branleuse · 15/08/2026 11:49

Tell her that she really hurt your veruccas when she scratched your feet

NoCureForLove · 15/08/2026 14:13
