Disappointed Man GIF

Didnt know it was happening until yesterday

Broke until payday - cannot buy the glasses

Autistic 7yo will not understand nor care

Will just stick it on the telly and call it a day

Have LOVED saying 'full moon, half moon, total eclipse' to myself though 😄😩

I don't have any glasses but will definitely be going outside to see what happens, why wouldnt still experience?

What is the significance of the man?

Octosmugge · Today 16:09

Yah me, I'm just not bothered, I remember the 90s one fine. I'll look at the gloomy light but I dont need to see it, I get it 🤷‍♀️

Candleflakes · Today 16:11

How did you not know about it? It’s everywhere on the news/social media and has been all week.

My autistic 7 year old is excited

HelpmaBoabb · Today 16:11

You've put a giphy of a man in your question. What is the relevance?

likelysuspect · Today 16:13

Oh, I dont know about this, what eclipse? Is it today?

Ladidahdi · Today 16:13

Horses for courses. I’ll be driving to work when it happens. My partner will be taking the kids to a big field to see it/run around. We’ve made a pin hole viewer from some recycling card so it’s cost £0.

StarCourt · Today 16:14

Yep I bought overpriced glasses so DD and I can watch it

It’s an unimpressed face, which is presumably the same as OPs unimpressed face.

smallglassbottle · Today 16:14

I literally couldn't give less of a crap. Random celestial bodies lining up in a certain way. Happens all the time.

TheChosenTwo · Today 16:14

We don’t have the glasses and I’m not arsing about making a blue Peter creation out of tin foil and cardboard but I’m going out later with friends and we’ll be outside so able to appreciate it. Ds is joining dd and her boyfriend who are going on a picnic to a great local viewing point for things like this.
dh will be at home probably cooking himself some dinner, he wants to see how our chickens will react 😂

Mogloveseggs · Today 16:15

Ds has a cricket match so I don’t know how that will be affected. I didn’t buy glasses might take my colander to cricket though but I bet I’ll get some funny looks haha.

igelkott2026 · Today 16:18

I'll be doing an outdoor exercise class when it's on, so will probably steal a momentary peek. Might take a colander too :)

But I am actually pretty stunned that for once there will be good weather for it. In 1999 it was cloudy. In 1990 I saw a partial one in Finland but it was cloudy and you just saw it get a bit darker and lighter.

Anything at night I miss because I am in bed like the Northern Lights being on show a long way south.

So the fact that this is actually happening in good weather and when I am awake is a massive bonus. But I don't have the glasses so can't look properly.

He's as irritated by the whole thing as I am!

During the 90s, the glasses were given free, it's all a faff

I dont care. I just want the weather to cool down

the80sweregreat · Today 16:21

It’s being televised, so can watch it there !
I was late getting glasses.

Same! Thats more important to me.

35 tomorrow in London!

LaLoba · Today 16:22

I’ve seen it before and I’m hot as hell so I can’t be arsed. Didn’t bother with glasses back then and I appear to have escaped the dire threatened consequences.

Tribellor · Today 16:23

I’ll be hiding in the garage with 6 months supply of toilet paper, bottled water, and canned goods. I think it’s a portent of the apocalypse.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · Today 16:23

I saw it late 90s. No need to see it again.

You can’t look at it without the glasses. I live near Greenwich Park (prime site) but I’ll just watch it on tv.

As we’re not due another one until 2090, it’ll be the last one I’ll see.

Me too in London! Luckily it’s my non working day so me and cat will be indoors and I’ll be on Smirnoff ice.

Wishimaywishimight · Today 16:25

I'm afraid if I go outside I will be tempted to look up and destroy my eyes!!

Aiming4Optimistic · Today 16:26

I don't get the fuss - it gets dark every day 😉

Id be much more excited by rain at this point, tbh
