Not a huge fan of Labour I must say, but this is well overdue!

Good, it's about time there was more diversity where I live.

The expression of hatred of white people is quite blatant sometimes, isn’t it?

DebbieSavage · Today 13:54

Shitshowpolitics · Today 13:44

But who exactly are these “British women” you're talking about? Britain is a multicultural country. British women are Black, white, Asian, mixed race and everything in between.

I've been with my partner for 24 years. He's Black, British born, with Jamaican parents, and we have four British born children together. Interracial and intercultural relationships aren't some frightening new phenomenon brought about by small boats.

And nobody said that a young single man who moves to another country will never have a relationship there. Of course some will. That's entirely different from the bizarre suggestion earlier in this thread that we should be asking how these men are going to “take care of their sexual needs”, as though British women are collectively being lined up to provide the answer.

A consensual relationship with a woman who happens to live in Britain is not remotely the same thing as presenting male migrants as a sexual threat to British women.

And perhaps most bizarrely, some posters seem to be talking as though “British women” automatically means white English women. It doesn't. This is Britain in 2026, not 1950.

Yes, exactly. Regardless, I would imagine the vast majority of white English women would be very much open to relationships with these men as we are a very open and tolerant bunch on the whole. I simply do not see the fear that some of the posters are insinuating that these men will be wandering around without access to 'sex', as if that is the be all and end all for people escaping persecution.

I think most of this fearmongering is coming from British men who are finding out very quickly that their value on the dating market isn't all it's cracked up to be and they are flailing about desperately trying to convince us that dating anybody from an asylum background is a bad idea.

What “hatred of white people” are you referring to? Please quote it, because disagreeing with your views on immigration isn't hatred of white people. Racism is a serious accusation, and throwing it around because somebody challenges sweeping generalisations about migrants rather trivialises actual racism.

This really is a piss take isn't it?

It gets to a point where people should maybe stop engaging. This is a serious thread about an important issue.

😂😂😂 I don’t need a man to convince me of anything and that’s precisely why I’d never date anyone who rocked up on a boat. It’s because I can think for myself and have my own views and opinions, which is everything that culture hates about western women.

LakieLady · Today 14:00

This isn't reflected in the statistics. Where, I live in Surrey/W Sussex borders 7.1% are on UC. Picking a 'poor' area at random - Clacton - and we find that 21.2% are on UC. There appears to be a direct and strong correlation between the wealth of an area and the amount of benefit claimants. You can explore for yourself: commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-10513/

That's interesting.

I live in an affluent area with low unemployment, but 17% are claiming UC here. I suspect that that might be because of high housing costs, and that a fair proportion of those UC claimants only get UC to help with rent.

Historically, it's always been an area where wages are low relative to housing costs, a stat that used to be used as a measure of deprivation by planners.

Persephonia1966 · Today 12:21

If it did work and numbers continued to decrease would you be happy? Or would you join the people calling for the Royal Navy to sink the boats and drown people, or quoting statistics in a way that confuses general migration numbers with asylum seekers?

Unless I’m mistaken only one person on this thread has talked about drowning people, which is you.

Shitshowpolitics · Today 14:00

It is a serious issue, which is precisely why sweeping statements about entire racial, ethnic or national groups and accusations of “hatred of white people” don't improve the discussion. If we're going to discuss immigration seriously, let's discuss evidence and policy rather than turning disagreement into racial grievance.

MrsMavisPike · Today 14:07

@BagsyTimBradford and @RosesAndPeoniesAndIrises

I agree with you both.I think it is best not to engage with @DebbieSavage.

There are people who are trying to put a positive spin on this, such as @LakieLady and @Persephonia1966. I couldn't disagree with them more- a position shared by the majority on this thread-but they are not putting forward outrageous posts-they are here to engage.

@DebbieSavage is clearly here just for giggles and to see how many people take the bait. In reality, I strongly suspect she is more in agreement with those who are against this then those who are for it but she chooses just to be silly rather than putting forward her ideas in a genuine way.

RosesAndPeoniesAndIrises · Today 14:08

DebbieSavage · Today 12:30

Oh my days you are like the fourth person to go on about 'white majority' this and that, it's so bloomin tiresome.

The sooner Britain does become majority ethnic British the better because then simply we can get past all the immigration/nativist arguing and get on with making a positive community that really inspires thinking from a globalist (rather than insular) perspective.

Ah, the “rub their noses in diversity” approach.

Frankly, and if I get deleted for this, so be it, wishing for the native group of a country to be made the minority is genocidal talk. It would be considered so if you made this comment about any other country’s people and it is when you say it about white British people.

I hope people can see you and your type for what you are.

That’s more likely to happen with crossings anyway. Not just across the channel but to the EU.

Countries that have stopped the crossings wouldn’t go back to those deaths. Even left wing wouldn’t vote to go back to it.

Phewmcgrew · Today 14:11

DebbieSavage · Today 12:13

Dating apps can select for larger areas if necessary so, while I understand your point, there are ways to compensate for people's concerns.

I also feel like there could be an opportunity for the government or local council to create some sort of social dating apparatus that can help willing local women make long lasting friendships/possible romantic connections with people from these communities so that they don't feel so isolated and alone.

This has to be a piss take.

ZoeCM · Today 14:15

MrsMavisPike · Yesterday 22:04

Yeah! So what.

You're out of touch if you think people care about being called racist about this situation any more.

You may as well shout, "Arse Boils and Pear Drops" for all the notice I-and and an increasing number of people pay to the empty yell of Racism.

The left drastically fucked up by throwing around the word "racist" so much over the last ten to fifteen years or so. I'm not denying for a moment that racism has not been taken seriously enough throughout the decades. But I've now heard people claim that it's racist for a white artist to cover a song by a black songwriter, for example. "Racist" used to be a shocking word, and now I think people are increasingly just filtering it out. It's background noise.

RosesAndPeoniesAndIrises · Today 14:16

DebbieSavage · Today 12:39

What homeland? We aren't indigenous to these Islands you know, we came to the UK and forcibly displaced the previous inhabitants. We are every bit the migrants you want to stop peacefully coming to our shores.

Actually I’m beginning to think @DebbieSavage is a shitposter from rightwing Twitter come to provoke us all into discussing white identity by trotting out every tired cliche used to deny white people the right to defend our interests. Come on Debbie, admit it!

LakieLady · Today 14:21

Yeah, those boats are awash with care workers. Can’t wait until one is wiping my bottom for me. Pull the other one!

The agency care workers get £6 an hour more than the employees where my friend works, which makes me think that they might not need the agency staff if they paid their employees £6ph more.

RosesAndPeoniesAndIrises · Today 14:22

DebbieSavage · Today 13:11

Stop being so disingenuous. The good thing is that, now that she has moved to somewhere less diverse from somewhere that benefitted from diversity, she will vote for somebody who will help bring diversity to where she lives now so that everybody else can also enjoy the life she used to have.

So in your vain attempt to belittle that poster, you have failed to realise that she is going to do a good thing for a whole new group of people who still live in disgusting homogeneity. 😚

Yep, definitely here to goad us on. You’re slightly jumping the shark now though, maybe reel it in a bit (to mix my fish-based metaphors).

I should have spotted it with the “oh goody, some new young men for my dating pool” post but it took me a while to catch on.

Debbie, you told us you have been married for 45 years. You haven't a clue what's going on in the "dating market".

Newname26 · Today 14:23

Surely it has to be classed as a security risk to have so many foreign nationals seeking asylum.
How do we know they aren't going to turn on British people?
They are already guilty of many rapes and crimes against women but how do we know that they aren't a threat to the UKs security?

IwouldlikeanewTV · Today 14:23

Vanillaicelatte · Today 11:05

Because their government doesn’t give a shit
they put the people first and take virtually no immigrants

they wouldn’t allow a super mosque to be built and people know that if they try to rush the border they will get shot at

And look at how well Poland is doing in terms of GDP, employment, education etc. all better than the UK.

GodDamnitDonut · Today 14:26

As someone with dual Polish and British nationality, I agree. I’m not sure if I see how the UK has benefited from the multi-cultural liberal approach.

GunnelVallquist · Today 14:27

As someone whose country was irrevocably changed for the worse thanks to immigration, I am always fascinated by threads like this.

Although I believe the tide is turning, slowly. Everywhere.

Persephonia1966 · Today 14:27

RosesAndPeoniesAndIrises · Today 14:00

Unless I’m mistaken only one person on this thread has talked about drowning people, which is you.

Plenty of people have suggested the Navy fires on the boats or in some way "fights" them. Usually when you sink a boat out at sea the people on it drown. So the drowning is inferred.
I agree, that people avoid actually using the word drowning, but thats just moral cowardice.

If not shooting on boats then what would be the preferred method to stopping them coming that isn't either stuff about making conditions "less luxurious" (so reducing the three meals a day to two or one presumably), sending them to El Salvador prisons? The only other solutions are things the UK government is already doing, or liberal left policies like openyup safer asylum routes.

GodDamnitDonut · Today 14:28

I think so too, I think give it another decade and people won’t even be offended to be called racist anymore.

That’s not the case. The options that have worked in other countries don’t involve this, eg Australia. Also Ceuta recently.
