People starting talking about small boats, then using numbers about overall immigration to make it sound more scary (because bigger number) then when it's pointed out that many of those immigrants are doing important jobs scoffing and saying that they don't think the men arriving on small boats will be doctors... Those people are being deliberately dishonest.

I think it's possible for two people to disagree fundamentally with each other and still be honest and have good points. Life isn't a logic puzzle with one correct answer. But when people engage in very obviously bad faith arguments and techniques it undermines any trust in the points they are making.

A lot of people are making fortunes out of this human smuggling economy. It is a billion pound economy. It’s not just the boat smugglers - it is all of the institutions providing housing, transport, food and entertainment services. All paid by British taxpayers while our economy nose dives and our unique culture is sneered at and changed. Developers will be given approval to build on ‘grey belt’ aka green belt as long as there is sufficient social housing - probably earmarked for these new arrivals to take them out of hotels.
