Not a huge fan of Labour I must say, but this is well overdue!

Fair share? what does that even mean?

They have already turned the lower class areas into shit holes so now they want to even the playing field and turn the middle class areas into shit holes? Keep going long enough and they will have to eventually turn the wealthiest areas into shit holes.

Why not fix the bloody cause rather than turning the whole country into a shit hole?

Rant over.

Agree totally

JenniferBooth · 11/08/2026 23:13

If he gives a shit about the working classes he will make housing associations more accountable

Vanillaicelatte · 11/08/2026 23:13

What is interesting is that last year if someone had posted this post
people would have been calling them racist and what not

it’s interesting and good that slowly people are beginning to see and admit what many other people have been saying for a long time

EmeraldRoulette · 11/08/2026 22:40

@HotGrapefruit ”Why the FUCK the Tories went down the Carer visa path - it’s just insane.”

can you tell me more about this, please? I was thinking carers are people that we really do need to have here and we should make conditions attractive for them. But the Visa should be tied to doing the actual job. Like literally your Visa gets revoked if you’re not doing the job . And attractive condition conditions should not include six family members…

Having worked in the US, I am so puzzled by how we do things here.

The Tories opened the carer’s visa route to ordinary care workers in 2022. If you could wash an arse you could come over. Those workers could initially bring partners and children, and the Conservatives themselves removed that right for new care-worker applicants in March 2024. 90,000 “carers” came over plus their families and dependents. Totally untrained. But had to mop up social care work that EU workers left after Brexit. fucking madness.

I live in a middle class rural area where asylum.seekers were housed in a local hotel, didn't even notice they were there

Windsurf · 11/08/2026 23:06

We prefer the term illegals. It's a bit less delusional.

It also inaccurate. And who is "we"?

it’s almost like Labour want to be disliked
just about anything and everything they do piss people off 😂 it’s like read the fucking room

people don’t want 2 pound bus fair or cheaper Netfkix

they want illegal immigration stopped

If I were PM
i would announce that any one arriving by boat
will be processed off shore 😂

and if they can’t prove where they are fleeing from they will be kept off shore ( prison ) until we know exactly who they are

start a new airline like in Con Air 😂 and off they go

no hotels , HMO and phones and money

it will be 6 to a cell 3 meals a day and not much else

ill never be PM though

But if AB is planning on spreading the illegal immigrants around the country it will be labored absolute downfall when it comes to election time

Edited

The issue you have is that this thread is an echo chamber

you can't possibly say that immigration is top of everyone's concerns

That's just not true.

And as I already posted, I live in a very middle class city with two hotels housing asylum seekers

The only trouble
has come from
the,
mostly imported, knuckle draggers who are drowned out by the decent citizens who counter their hotel- shouting

In the grand scheme
of things, it's really not that big a deal.

Charlize43 · 11/08/2026 23:24

Can't we just put them in Chipping Norton?

I suspect that's true for most decent people

Cleo65 · 11/08/2026 23:29

No. It's time this was stopped, thousands of young men who hate our religion, customs, culture, food & women should not even be coming in. Plenty of ways to stop it - but successive governments are practically encouraging it. That's the problem - & the billions of pounds it is costing tax payers to feed, cloth & house therm. This is what we should be getting angry about.

ComedyGuns · 11/08/2026 23:30

I read a very concerning post on another forum recently, where a British man who, because of his low income, has been housed in an HMO for over a year.

He said that everyone else there was a male immigrant who typically stayed just a few months until they’d sorted out a house for his whole family to then move over into, and then left. Shocking.

BlaiseAnais94 · 11/08/2026 23:30

This conversation isn't really about illegal immigrants.

The majority of those being housed by the government are legal asylum seekers who are documented and under due process or have already received asylum and are legal migrants.

Illegal immigrant means someone has no legal right to be in the UK. Once found they will either be detained pending deportation, plead asylum, therefore becoming asylum seeker, or be released on bail.

If the latter they usually stay in their own accommodation and the threshold for the government to house is high and for a very short period of time.

Because we colonised huge swathes of the world, destabilised large numbers of countries and plundered their wealth to financially elevate our small island country. Many of those countries indigenous people were decimated not only by violence but by the rampant disease we brought.

We then, in most cases, fucked off out leaving immature leadership and countries unable to effectively lead themselves and prosper.

We have also, in more recent times, used our power to interfere in the governance of other nations, start wars under the guise of humanitarian motives, destabilising entire geographical regions.

We are now reaping what we sowed and to do anything other than be humanitarian and accommodating to migrants would be political suicide on the, already unstable, world stage. And, pretty revolting.

We are now reaping what we sowed

Ah, the mass immigration as punishment viewpoint.

It always interests me how some groups of people (white people, to be specific) are deemed to be collectively responsible for the actions of their ancestors and some aren’t even collectively responsible for their groups current actions.

illegal immigration has its made certain areas a shit hole

@HotGrapefruit thank you
It’s coming back to me now
With the non existent care homes and stuff

As usual, it feels like the Civil Service didn’t put in any safeguards at all. I mean at this point their interpretation of “work visa” is highly dubious.

Oh bore off with your colonisation lecture! That happened hundreds of years before anyone in this country was even born. You won’t find it very easy to find any country in the world that doesn’t have a completely innocent past.

And why should the people alive in Britain today, or future generations have to make up for the past deeds of people we never even met for goodness sake!

so because someone colonised Africa in the 1800s my village population has to be tripled with single male ayslum seekers now? Righty oh. I'll keep that in mind

I often think with threads I’d like there to be an indicator system where certain demographics of posters have to br displayed if you wanted to post (so like on MIL threads, it would display if you were a MIL or DIL).

On this thread I’d like it to display

  • are you middle class?
  • do you live in a 90% + white area?
  • have you every called a working class person racist for complaining about the effects of mass immigration on their community?

Yes I live in a very middle class, fairly wealthy area with over 90% white people.

Totally agree we should do our bit. I’ve lived in areas happily before with a large immigrant population and it just means you can get your hands on very nice food. Places like London and Brum are used to it.

Thing is people will kick off about asylum seekers having access to somewhere nice - it’ll be something seen as too good for them by the wider public.
