Not a huge fan of Labour I must say, but this is well overdue!

Yes, they will probably use the old Lottery advert, with a big finger coming down from the sky and shouting, " It Could be You!"

They will accompany it with some stirring music, "Ode to Joy" would be appropriate while the lady who provies the voice over for Master Chef will say something like:

"We all love our land and are proud of the welcome we give to those who choose to come here.

Each week, a new area will benefit from the chance to experience a rich and diverse society, a chance for your neighbourhood to grow in love and warmth as it welcomes those destined to take us forward and build our future.

Please check this week's postcodes-appearing on screen now- to discover if your neighbourhood is among this week's lucky winners.

It could be you!"

Stirring indeed

Option 3, we no longer hold ourselves to a humanitarian framework which is continuously abused. Why are we still being held to a higher degree of morality than extreme cultures who don't want to live by western rules?

Edited

Nobody can explain this. Millions have arrived from countries that don't care about equality and have made no effort to achieve it and yet the second they arrive in Britain they demand "equality" but it has to be paid for by us. Not them.

ItsOnlyMee1 · 11/08/2026 22:47

Fair share? what does that even mean?

They have already turned the lower class areas into shit holes so now they want to even the playing field and turn the middle class areas into shit holes? Keep going long enough and they will have to eventually turn the wealthiest areas into shit holes.

Why not fix the bloody cause rather than turning the whole country into a shit hole?

Rant over.

millymollymoomoo · 11/08/2026 22:47

NO

what the PM needs to do is protect our borders, stop the boats and detain all those that arrive until deported.

NO dumping them in communities
these are illegal economic immigrants

MajesticWhine · 11/08/2026 22:47

No one should be taking their fair share. The government needs to find a way to stop the incentives and remove illegal immigrants. I’m in favour of safe routes for those genuinely fleeing conflict zones.

There are bigger plans afoot. Anybody who can't see through Polanski and the other Gaza representatives want a wake up call.

So colonisation 400 years ago = 120 million of their descendants housed free in Britain. OK.

Where?

Decolonisation in many countries didn't start until the 1940's.

I grew up in South London in the 70s and 80s and am from an immigrant background myself. I’m still here, but I don’t know how long for. I used to feel very positively about multiculturalism and still love aspects of it, but when I’m out and about, I’m surrounded by people on e-bikes zipping past with balaclavas on their faces. People are having phones snatched all the time, footage went out of someone on a moped doing a robbery with a huge machete on our local night street, last night someone was shot dead in a spot where I often park.
When I’m out and about I’m surrounded by people who have no desire to interact or communicate with me.
However, I can go to areas that are completely sheltered from all of this, and I can imagine those people being very sanctimonious about the whole issue, but they’re not walking around wondering whether they’re going to be stabbed or shot.

They believe a "fair share" of murder, rape and robbery for the worlds criminals in Britain is a good thing, it's equal opportunity. Burnham now wants the middle class to take up their fair share of victim provision.

How did you know they are "illegal"?

SpaceRaccoon · 11/08/2026 22:54

Tbh I'd rather no-one had to.

Charlize43 · 11/08/2026 22:54

I wouldn't mind so much if the government had some sort of works program for them like rebuilding the railways or building better infrastructure.

I'll be furious if taxes go up as I can barely survive as it it.

Why does the tax payer have to pay for these people?

The UK should rebrand as a charity.

DrySherry · 11/08/2026 22:57

"The UK should rebrand as a charity"

That happened quite some time ago globally. The issue is that residents weren't really aware of the scale of the commitment

Hotel full of them only half a mile away. They all came on the dinghies, well known, there is no secrecy. All men. Not one woman.

How was it 400 years ago? It still exists. We still have 14 overseas territories 10 of which the UN still classes as awaiting decolonisation.

The last big decolonisations that caused substantial instability were Hong Kong in the 90s and Zimbawe in the 80's.

We didnt get so many of those refugees as other western countries as HK nationals were highly educated, had a relatively long time to prepare and were attractive to the likes of Canada and Australia. South Africa took majority of Zimbabwean refugees.

Current data shows migrants mainly come from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh and Syriah.

Pakistan and Bangladesh instability stems from dicing up British India and the other 3 have had direct British military interference.

Current data shows most illegal migration is from Somalia.

You can't apply for asylum outside of the UK.
The way the law works is you first have to come to the UK then, once there, you can submit an asylum application. This either means coming to the UK by plane on a different sort of visa or entering it in an "irregular" fashion (the small boats). Usually people entering in this way will make themselves immediately known to the authorities, at which point they become asylum seekers and their claim is processed. If their claim is successful they then become refugees. While waiting for their claim to be processed they aren't living here illegally. The migrants in the migrant centres/hotels are living where they are told to live.

I don't like the current system, but we chose to make the laws the way they are. People following those laws/that system may be good people or may be awful people. But the term "illegal" isn't a helpful one.

They could come much more cheaply by plane rather than paying people smugglers. But then they would be showing thier true identitys wouldn't they? Most of them wouldn't be granted asylum if they showed thier real documents.

Valid point

The Afghan scheme was quite badly handled. Many people who came here had their applications accepted despite not doing anything particularly valuable for the UK, because their applications had been involved in a data breach.

(And many people who came through the Afghan scheme did help in special forces operations. I'm just using this to reinforce my earlier point: the bars to entry for very many "socially acceptable" legal visa schemes are not as high as people imagine them. Some people who clear the bar are great. But it's not a guarantee that everyone on that route is someone we want in Britain.)

When the Afghans came here a few years ago
my niece was in the highest band for getting a property (she needed a fully adapted house with stair lift / wet room due to her disability and needs

within weeks of them coming to our city the house she was offered was withdrawn
we found out later it was given to an afghan family as we had the address and had a friend who lived in the next street

luckily our MP ( who is labour unfortunately ) is actually excellent or rather her staff are and within a few weeks my niece was offered another house that was in the process of being adapted after our MP wrote several strongly worded letters

it was perfectly clear that my niece who is British, born in England with a serious life limiting disability was bumped for a family who had just arrived

I don’t blame the people they are only doing what is best for them and their family

it’s what Will Smith said in Bad Boys
hate the game not the players 😂

How exactly does shifting millions of Pakistanis and Indians into Britain stabilise anything?

We prefer the term illegals. It's a bit less delusional.

Vanillaicelatte · 11/08/2026 23:09

it’s almost like Labour want to be disliked
just about anything and everything they do piss people off 😂 it’s like read the fucking room

people don’t want 2 pound bus fair or cheaper Netfkix

they want illegal immigration stopped

If I were PM
i would announce that any one arriving by boat
will be processed off shore 😂

and if they can’t prove where they are fleeing from they will be kept off shore ( prison ) until we know exactly who they are

start a new airline like in Con Air 😂 and off they go

no hotels , HMO and phones and money

it will be 6 to a cell 3 meals a day and not much else

ill never be PM though

But if AB is planning on spreading the illegal immigrants around the country it will be labored absolute downfall when it comes to election time

@BlaiseAnais94 ”Current data shows migrants mainly come from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Bangladesh and Syriah.

can you please explain to me why you believe that impacts the decision of a young man coming here from India or Bangladesh in 2026? I am looking for something more direct than a decision that was made in the 1940s. I fully appreciate that decision might have impacted his grandparents. I’m a lot less clear how you think it affects things now.
