Butt on display at lunch in south of France

I am currently having lunch in a beach restaurant and a girl with a lovely toned body is wearing a tiny thong with full ass on display. This seems to be a fashion thing and there are lots of women wearing the same cheese cutter! People are staring and some women are laughing. I find it a horrible trend and I am wondering what others think.

No I wasn’t laughing or judging I was actually really curious and just chatting with my husband about whether a women wearing a cheese cutter thong and not covering up in a restaurant is appropriate. Please don’t tell me what I was thinking or doing. The post was for fun as I said, and I am not making fun of anyone it was meant as a curious lighthearted post.

No I wasn’t laughing or judging

Every. Single. Post.

You are literally judging her.

Do you think it's not there for all to read? 😳

Nope, not at all.

Calliopespa · 11/08/2026 16:35

I think nothing looks all that sexy or alluring when you are wondering about whether it might have a smudge of poo on it when they take it off.

Well, that might do it for some people I guess; MN has introduced me to the concept of poo trolls.

I mean that's literally anything you wear on your bottom half if you don't wipe your arse properly?

This is a beach restaurant, as we dont know the style of restaurant then i could not comment other than if its a very informal restaurant then yes its to be expected ive certainly worn similar in the informal beach restaurants

Plenty did, although possibly inadvertently. Pretty much impossible to avoid if you combine low rise jeans with a thong and a job that involves bending down a lot.

It was definitely on purpose, the thing was pulled up over her hips to sit on her waist on both sides. Well above where one naturally sits.

Mapletree1985 · 11/08/2026 16:40

I thought long and hard about this and decided I really don't care. Whatever her reason for wearing that bikini to lunch, that's her business. I'm just going to eat my sandwich.

My own bikini wearing days are long gone.

What? Seriously, what?

If you have poor hygiene that is one thing but don't presume everyone else leaves 'smudges of poo' <wtt>.

What is wrong with judging? In fact aren’t the posters pursing their lips and accusing the OP of being judgemental, judging her for judging?

I can’t imagine why we can’t think “ugh” about bare bums. Saw one the other day on the train . A girl who obviously considered herself terribly alternative and was trying to shock. Also at the airport - everyone was staring in horror; she was in a hen party.

Your post is deliberately shaming this woman for wearing a thong and gleefully observing others sniggering at her.

It's not a joke when it's at someone else's expense.

The situation is surely much worse when you are kind of flossing it.

At least there is a factor of dilution and chlorine.

That’s a whole other debate. I actually dread to think.

It's not a whole other debate. You asked what "others" think.

That includes men, because contrary to popular belief, men are people too.

Why?

You either clean your arse properly or you don't?

GaaNeen · 11/08/2026 16:49

Some women are staring and laughing ….

i hope that’s not you OP

there is a real person attached to that bum -
a real woman with feelings -
it might not be everyone’s taste of dress but publicly laughing at someone is not cool

I'm with you, MaturingCheeseball.

It's hilarious but (pun absolutely intended) on MN many pps just love a bare backside on show, for some reason I can't fathom.

Anyone raising an eyebrow is either 'perving' (if a man) or mocking, if a woman. And God help that any woman of 50 should comment - outrageous!

Peak MN.

For me, it's the possibility of poo residue which I don't want on a public (I'll avoid any further near-puns) seat. Call me old fashioned.

Scrubwren · 11/08/2026 13:34

I’m sure you can decide what you think without the internet’s support. I assume the restaurant wouldn’t have seated her if it contravened the dress code.

Hope they cover her seat first though r disinfect it after she's gone, I wouldn't want to sit on it.
