I am currently having lunch in a beach restaurant and a girl with a lovely toned body is wearing a tiny thong with full ass on display. This seems to be a fashion thing and there are lots of women wearing the same cheese cutter! People are staring and some women are laughing. I find it a horrible trend and I am wondering what others think.

I think it's quite performative, most people would definitely look and make a judgement, thinking that either she is lucky to have that gorgeous figure, or she's showing off - the horrible bitch, or WTF is she thinking showing the cheeks of her arse to my face. I'm trying to extract a moule from its shell, I can't multitask you know when I'm shit faced from the Rosy Joe in Provence and my DH has beads of sweat on his brow and a crick in his neck trying to see what she has on show. I think thongs are pretty nasty even if you've got a perfect peachy bum. However, if you're on the beach if you've got it flaunt it I guess.

A restaurant is a different matter however. Bare arses in the vicinity of food is pretty foul.

There are whole threads where people maintain they need bidets and jet attachments and all sorts that go well beyond a trusty length of toilet tissue to deal with the aftermath of a trip to the loo.

I'm presuming if at the beach without all these facilities, those people might struggle with the insertion of a thong into the equation.

I’m in London for work right now and I’ve been surprised by the number of women wearing barely there skirts and shorts with their entire bum out. It’s not an exaggeration either, it’s as much coverage as a small pair of knickers. The feminist in me applauds their confidence and their right to way what they want. But I did find it very uncomfortable too. And confusing because we’re in a busy city, sitting on the tube, going up and down stairs and escalators and the risk of exposing yourself is high. I also felt it made them quite vulnerable, particularly the teenage girls following this trend.

I know someone will now LOVE to tell me they can wear whatever they want blah blah but I don’t think it’s necessary to walk around with your ass out, male or female.
