DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

My dh goes to bed in the same pjs every night -washes them once or twice a week and doesn’t wear anything underneath. We’re on holiday and hasn’t washed them in a week now.
I think it’s pretty awful to wear the same ones without washing them and can’t imagine putting on the same pjs at the end of the day. We’ve had a debate and he thinks it’s what all men do. I think I’m going to buy him a pair to wear everyday day so this doesn’t keep happening!

Is everyone else getting the Zooflora spray ad on here?!! I’ll add it to the Waitrose so my DH can spray his balls and crotch because he is definitely slacking in the PJ hygiene area.

I expect he would go a week without changing PJs. Also failed as a mother as student DS would probably also do the same.

I wear my pj's for about a week. If you're clean before you put them on I can't see the problem.

I have thought wearing pyjamas for one week is a normal thing to do. Until I realised that most British people dont shower/bath in the evening. Thats what I find gross. If you have a shower or bath in the evening then wearing the same pyjamas for a week is absolutely fine.

To those of you who state “I do not know any guys who wear pyjamas in bed”…how do you know what all these men wear at night? Can’t say it’s ever come up in conversation with any of my male friends or acquaintances!

I find this thread highly disturbing. So many people wearing clothes including pyjamas just once and doing shocking amount of laundry. The world has gone bonkers. The advertising for laundry products and hygiene must have been going strong to make people this OCD.

I can't believe how many of you are still so reliant on liquids to maintain basic hygiene. Irradiation is the way to go. I never feel properly clean unless I've had a full top-to-toe each morning and evening.

Also people of MN - Im such a light packer on holiday I only need a small clutch bag for my holiday items. No of course you dont need more than 1 type of PJ/nightwear

So he’s only wearing them for 2/3 days without washing - that’s normal.

No one wears a different pair of PJs every day.

Most people sleep naked or with no bottoms anyway and no one changes the bed sheets every day.

The immune system counted on a bit of common sense - not flossed arse crack bacteria being reapplied every night. I’m no clean freak. I think we shower way too often these days. But arse crack germs - no thank you.

I think people are missing the arse crack/sweaty crotch point. If op had said he puts the exact same pair of boxers back on every night for 7 nights, it would be unanimously considered filthy. But wearing pj in arse crack without boxers - the PJs are the boxers. So need changing.

If people clean themselves before going to bed, pyjamas and sheets stay clean longer.

If people go to bed without washing after a full day, pyjamas are the least of the problem here.

Unless you sleep 14 hours a night you won’t be wearing the PJ bottoms as long as knickers though.

Does he shower every evening before changing into
his pyjamas and changes into his day clothes as soon as he gets out of bed? In that case, a week is ok at a stretch.

Although I see your point. As he’s not wearing underwear, it’s like washing and then putting the same underpants on again. Different PJs every day might be excessive but every 2-3 days maybe?

I'm not sure that would bother me tbh. Neither of us sleep with any sort of pyjamas. How is that different, as we don't change our bodies every evening? I have one set of pyjamas that I take if I am visiting someone else's house and depending on how long I'm there for, I'd happily wear it for a week before washing.

Unfortunately, I’ve also read all the comments about ball sweat, arse cracks and commando pyjamas, so I’m off to John Lewis to buy a fresh mattress, replace the flooring in the bedroom and stand in a Dettol shower until further notice.
