DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

My dh goes to bed in the same pjs every night -washes them once or twice a week and doesn’t wear anything underneath. We’re on holiday and hasn’t washed them in a week now.
I think it’s pretty awful to wear the same ones without washing them and can’t imagine putting on the same pjs at the end of the day. We’ve had a debate and he thinks it’s what all men do. I think I’m going to buy him a pair to wear everyday day so this doesn’t keep happening!

@Bikergran Maybe it's become cool again, none of them are over 35.

I wash and change my pjs once a week. I may do it twice if I get super sweaty or dirty in them somehow. Husband is the same. We're fine. But we both bathe and shower right before changing into pj's each day anyway so...

Also this thread is gold. May have to consider buying a new bedroom carpet each morning so I'm not standing on the same dirty one every day...

I change pjs every 3 days. Mainly because we sweat, shed skin cells etc. On holiday it’s more if we are somewhere hot. Horses for courses I suppose.

You slob. I go out each evening and buy a set of bed linen from John Lewis, so that I can have genuinely fresh linen every night. Then I spray the bed frame with Dettol and swallow a pint of warm antiseptic before bed

Edited

As indeed you should.

I can't believe how many of you need to take such elaborate steps to keep clean. One decent transfusion of formaldehyde will save you all that effort and expense.

I just sleep in the bath. I haven’t even removed the packaging from my mattress , ergo great savings on bedding, the money saved is spent on topping up the bath with warm water throughout the night so I don’t freeze.
i set an hourly alarm, ‘spick and shattered!’ is my motto

‘spick and shattered’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I spat my coffee.

as opposed to OP’s DH’s PJs which, after 7 days, are very likely to be ‘shick and spattered’ 🤢🤢🤢from all the overnight farting 🤢🤢🤢

No gross

His ball sweat just floating around the crotxh 🤢

So if he slept naked would you change the bed sheets twice a week or more ?

Personally I get up at 2am to shower and change my pjs before sleeping for the rest of the night. Can’t imagine how gross I would feel otherwise 🤢

I set an alarm to go off top of the hour all night long to change mine.

It ruins my sleep and I think I'm going slightly mad because of it but it's better than being a skank.

ineedadehumidifier · Yesterday 07:32

Yuck. Who wears the same anything for a week without washing? Nope. I sleep in one of DHs t shirts, a clean one every night. DH sleeps in his boxers, again, clean ones every night. I fail to see how PJ bottoms are any different to boxers, would he also wear the same pair of those for a week? 🤮

This could be easily overcome with a Dickensian style night shirt,

Rewis · Yesterday 07:39

I'll add this to the long list of things that make me gross that I've learned from MN😅

EmeraldShamrock000 · Yesterday 07:42

Yes. It’s gross, for anyone to wear pj’s for a few days without underwear. Yuck. I wear a clean pair every night.

MaryBeardsShoes · Yesterday 07:43

God times are hard if this is the kind of “witty banter” that’s getting nominated for classics these days.

Tamtim · Yesterday 07:46

Nope, not all men. DH wears his two nights in a row, myself and the kids have fresh pjs every evening. Stupid amounts of washing but can’t imagine getting out of the shower and into anything but fresh pjs.

hugasaurus · Yesterday 07:47

I wear fresh PJs every night as it’s one of my ‘things’ so I am definitely biased here, but it is a bit gross. DH has never worn pyjamas in his life though! Well I assume he did as a kid maybe. Not in our life together at least. But I’d he did, I wouldn’t be impressed with one pair a week!

Raisinsandweetabix · Yesterday 07:47

It's the same as underwear. Clean pair every night after washing. Come on, that's seriously gross

hahabahbag · Yesterday 07:56

Never met a man who actually sleeps in pjs!

Why?

Busybeemumm · Yesterday 08:03

It depends, undies on or off under the pjs.

localnotail · Yesterday 08:04

Same about wearing PJs. I thought they were mainly for kids.

How can a man wearing pyjamas give you the 'ick' more than a man sleeping naked with dirty genitals and bum exposed?! Because even showering daily, this time of year especially that area gets sweaty and also genitals and bum are only clean after a shower until the next wee/poo/sexual act 🤮

The only way to keep genitals sweat free is to have him castrated.
Alternatively, buy him pants with days of the week embroidered on them, in irdee to track his cleanliness. Maybe a spreadsheet would be useful.
Track the bedlinen on the spreadsheet too.

It's very tedious

Nocameltoeleggingsplease · Yesterday 08:07

DH and I both sleep naked and change the sheets once a week.
Sorry if that offends you.

LemonSnail · 06/08/2026 23:07

Same, I change the bedding at 1am and 4am.

Me too, sometimes I just sleep in the shower as it’s easier.

This thread has really set me up for the morning with a chuckle 🤣
