DH-same PJs, no pants, 7 days… am I overrea

Yousay55 · 06/08/2026 22:48

My dh goes to bed in the same pjs every night -washes them once or twice a week and doesn’t wear anything underneath. We’re on holiday and hasn’t washed them in a week now.
I think it’s pretty awful to wear the same ones without washing them and can’t imagine putting on the same pjs at the end of the day. We’ve had a debate and he thinks it’s what all men do. I think I’m going to buy him a pair to wear everyday day so this doesn’t keep happening!

Thanks for giving me such a great laugh! Best thread I have read!

Imtornanddontknowwhattodo · Yesterday 05:03

Ooh you dirty beggers!

I sleep in a hamza suit with a gas mask in the shower using super strength disinfectant.

I think I’ve seen you in John Lewis a few times when I buy my new mattress each morning.

Standing ovation for this 😂😂😂

If he showers before bed fine. If not, then gross

getearnow · Yesterday 05:23

Right! You’re all disgusting! I sleep in a giant Petri dish in a sterile laboratory

People of mumsnet: 'the planet is burning, water is running out, and the cost of living is killing us! Why don't we do something?'

Also people of mumsnet (not all admittedly): 'How dare my DH wear something in the privacy of his own home more than once before washing. Must wash everything daily....'

Exactly this. Wash everything including PJs, jeans and hoodys after every wear. Towels for entire household washed after every use. Bedding for a family for 4 washed two to three times a week. Need to drive an SUV because they have a child. But don’t worry they wash out every yoghurt pot and are disgusted by their neighbours that don’t recycle because THEY are the ones killing the planet!

Normal

Stolengnome · Yesterday 05:49

PMSL at this thread 🤣 Comedy gold 👌

SodThisHeadache · Yesterday 05:50

Normal. Unless your DH can't wipe his arse properly, in which case you have bigger problems.

And it's disingenous to cite women's need to change knickers every day to say that men must change PJ bottoms/boxers they wear in bed every day. Must I go into the differences between women and men's genitalia?

Thank you for a funny thread

You slob. I go out each evening and buy a set of bed linen from John Lewis, so that I can have genuinely fresh linen every night. Then I spray the bed frame with Dettol and swallow a pint of warm antiseptic before bed

Edited

You don’t wash them first? 🤢

Yetone · 06/08/2026 23:24

OP, this is gross. Unless you wear underwear beneath them, you should change your pjs bottoms daily. You wouldn’t wear the same pair of knickers for a week.

Speaking personally, I sweat and go to the toilet during the day and don’t do either at night. I shower before bed. I find it perfectly ok to wear my PJs for a week (without knickers). I have clean knickers , socks and t-shirt every day.

GiffGaffClapTrap · Yesterday 06:12

Can't believe you all use mattresses. So gross, think of all that sweat just being sucked into them.

I lay out a mat of anti bac wipes every night and sleep on those. Takes two mins and I feel better about the germs.

I’m not wasteful when it comes to clothing and will wear most things more than once, including bras.
However I draw the line at trousers that, ahem Blush, have close contact with the crotch area, such as leggings or pj bottoms. Jeans are different, because they’re thicker, if that makes sense?! Hmm

What do you think is going to happen if you wear clothes more than once. How much washing do you do. I dont understand why people are so scared of this 'bacteria', what harm are you going to come to ?

MrsBlobby64 · Yesterday 06:23

Men still wear pjs?! I’ve been married 29 years with a 28 year old son - they both sleep in their pants & that’s it 😂

Are you serious? Thousands of people are hospitalised each day with life-threatening septicaemia caused by slightly stale PJs, yesterday's undies and moderately whiffy socks.

NormasArse · Yesterday 06:29

rockingaroundthe · Yesterday 00:10

Yes this is true, but the sweat will leak through the trousers as they've been on for so long 🤣🤢

No it won’t! Not unless he’s excessively sweaty! 😂

Alittlefrustrated · Yesterday 06:31

Even my 15yo, who would wear the same clothes forever, won't wear pj's for more than 2 nights.

I know, I’m very chilled about hygiene.

I can top that……..I sleep upright in the shower 🤪🤣🤪🤣

Oh hiya! 👋 Quite likely - I'm the one wrapped in head-to-toe clingfilm

I love this!

AImportantMermaid · Yesterday 06:49

Absolute mingers, all of you. Every night I get dipped in Domestos and shot into space to go to sleep on the moon.

ThatCosy · Yesterday 06:54

Oh for goodness sake.

What do people think will happen if there are 'germs'? People used to bathe once a week. Sheets were washed less than once a week (and imagine before washing machines existed!) People couldn't afford multiple pairs of pyjamas.

The world turned, People weren't particularly unwell and and homes didn't stink. There was less of a climate crisis and women were still found trivial shit to compete with each other over that kept them in their place. Now we have labour saving devices I'm glad we're over that 🙄.

WerewolfOfLoudon · Yesterday 00:05

@Yousay55 Honestly most men I have intimate bed knowledge about, wear pjs. Never more than 2 nights before washing. A week is grim, even if he showers before bed.

@WerewolfOfLoudon in a long and fairly louche life, I have never met a man who wears pjs to sleep in at home, they are only donned to preserve decency when venturing out to the bathroom, or to lounge in during the evening. The exception to this rule is hospital stays, where apparently fully trained medical staff would be horrified by a glimpse of cock.
