He seems incredibly rich for someone who appears not to have had a job for many years, I wonder who funds his lifestyle?

I don't think he actually believes all the crap he spouts, he has just found a way to make a great deal of money on the back of peoples fear.

2017
“Material seen by the BBC indicates The Rebel was so well-financed that Robinson earned a salary that, at times, touched more than £10,000 a month - with additional funds for a three-person film-making team.

His brief was to produce provocative and emotional films that would enrage his audience by exposing the "truth" about liberal "elites". He'd highlight stories where he claimed white working class people in the UK were becoming second class citizens. “
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48942411

He has fundraised directly asking for donations until both Facebook and PayPal stopped it (the facility originally was setup for charities to receive funds, not convicted fraudsters).

He receives financial backing from various other right wing businessmen and politicians from around the world.

What are you basing this on? Do you have many Muslim friends? Which of the five pillars do you object to in particular?
If you look at any religious text written a long time ago, there will be elements that no longer fit with our modern sensibilities. All the Muslims I know would ignore anything like that though and follow the main thrust of the religion which is about kindness and compassion. I think you need to meet more Muslims.

I imagine the poster you're quoting doesn't even know what the five pillars refers to. Funnily enough most of the people who despise Islam and claim to be Christians haven't spent much time reading a Bible. The Bible is full of awful things which wouldn't be acceptable at all in today's society.

See I dont think thats disgusting. I have worked in this field and we had a specialist worker dedicated for women from certain groups - but it needs to be made explicit about why that exists. That facebook post does look like white women don't matter. I think the post should have been clearer as to why a separate service was needed.

But Robinson didn't approach the centre with his concerns and say "I think this post might make it seem as though white women don't matter". He said: "I guess it's ok to rape white women then?" and deliberately set his followers on to attack a rape crisis centre.

That is disgusting.

Ive met plenty in my job (Social Worker). Ive read and studied loads about it.

It is not a peaceful religion. People don't have to be physically violent to be violent. People who follow the muslim religion think women are less than, and worthless. I dont care how peaceful they pretend to be, I cant support anyone who believes that. I wish people would follow Ayann Hirsi Ali's work (ex-muslim). She wrote the amazing book 'Infdel'. Its an incredibly dangerous religion.

Im interested why OP or the people telling us we are wrong, aren't telling us all the positives with specifics and details on what a great person he is....
And how he represents "most people"

The irony that he claims to "unite the kingdom" when literally his MO, is, and always has been, shit stirring and creating division, under the guise of being an ordinary bloke, disillusioned with mainstream politics.

Im not Christian Im athiest. I do know a lot about both religions and others because I find theology fascinating. Im autistic and its one of my special interests. Big Richard Dawkins fan. Currently reading 'The God Delusion' again. Whilst the bible is awful, most Christians don't follow it. With Islam, muslims do follow the Quran. I suggest you read Ayaan Hirsi Ali's work.

He doesn't say racist things though. Watch every single interview and he doesn't say anything racist. He may well be, but he never ever says anything racist...and calling him that hides the truth.

He doesn't like some elements of the Muslim faith and its impact on British/European culture.

Whether you agree with him or not, you are completely missing the point of his argument...that the Muslim faith is inherently bad.

The fact that there is something about him that I feel is off. The fact that he encourages a violent response to Muslims. The fact that he is a convicted criminal and doesn't have the intelligence to follow court orders should not be overshadowed by the mistaken view he makes racist statements.

Whether you agree with him or not, you are completely missing the point of his argument...that the Muslim faith is inherently bad.

Ah my bad, no racism at work here then. One entire religion, coincidentally mostly followed by brown people, is 'inherently bad'. Other religions, the whiter ones, all good though. The Catholic church doesn't hae a horrific history with child sexual abuse or with it's treatment of unmarried women. And I'm sure Not Racist Tommy would have loads to say about it if it did.

I think it was very foolish. I dont think it was disgusting. He isn't responsible for what his fans do. Would I handle it like him? Absolutely not. BUT I can understand why certain people would be angry about this, because it can very much feel like white women and girls just don't matter at the moment - especially around the grooming gang issue - and that is one of the focuses of his work from what understand. It must have incensed him. Because I have worked in this field I understand the need for DV services to have separate services for certain women from different cultures and ethnic groups - some of what they suffer is unique to their groups (honour, forced marriage, FGM), but if not in that field and not given the information as to why, I can understand why it feels racist and exclusionary of white women and girls. I think the centre has the ultimate responsibility here. The advert should have been more explicit about why the service was servicing only certain minorities.

So I dont think anyone has been disgusting here. And I do wonder if the calls really were racist and just people saying 'why dont white women matter?'.

Do you have any more examples? As I say I really dont know much about him, apart from everything I hear in the press and tiktok etc, but I dont listen to that as you can equally find horrid stuff about JKR and to me she is an absolute queen! Id like to be educated more on him though. He could be a collossal shit of course.

The muslim religion IS inherently bad though. Just because it happens to be the religion of 'brown' people is irrelevant.

For balance, LDS is inherently bad too.

Its ok to say these things. Id argue its essential.

He isn't saying that though, is he. He's specifically chosen Islam to send his frothing mob after. He doesn't give a shit about the damage other religions have done, to the women & children he claim to be all about protecting. It's just about him and his thug mates doing a modern day version of 'P*ki bashing' under the pathetic disguise of protecting women, children or 'our country'.

He is very much responsible for what his fans do. He incites violence and division.

But he might have approached that centre and they ignored him? We don't know that. And he wrote what he wrote. One could argue he is standing up for white women who are being abused - which is a good thing no? Maybe his intention was good - to stand up for women and girls, especially those affected by grooming gangs.

Does he incite violence and division or is he fighting to keep women and girls safe? I dont know the answer to that (I admit I dont know much about him) Im just saying that maybe it depends on the way you look at it.

I will compare - again with JKR. She has been accused repeatedly of inciting hatred towards transpeople. I dont believe that to be true at all and believe her motivation is entirely to fight for the injustices against women and girls. Maybe TR is the same.

Id like to see more evidence to the contrary?

Otterloverfrenchielady · 03/08/2026 11:15

You can easily google this. You are being disingenuous, you know that. You simply want to excuse him because you are an islamophobe. If the things you are, and he, is saying was said about another religion, would you find it acceptable?

JKR is a perfect example of someone standing up for a cause that is controversial and getting stick for it but she has never, that I am aware of, sunk to the level of the people attacking her. Yes, she will tweet funny things and sometimes criticise someone who criticised her first. But she hasn't called on her followers to brigade against rape crisis centres. Instead she set up her own. And then faced down Amnesty International.

It's ironic because in his constant shit stirring and calls of arms to his followers SYL is much more like the worst trans rights activists in the way he acts than JKR. Just because you agree less with the TRAs than with SYL.it doesn't make the same tactics suddenly OK. They are peas in a pod in my opinion.

This is really interesting. I loathe the TRA call to arms tactics. Off to read more about TR. Thanks @Persephonia1966 . Its just hard to know what to read and watch to get to the truth because a lot of it is BS. I did watch an interview with him and KJK and I thought he seemed really reasonable. I liked the God Delusion. However, Richard Dawkins was a close associate of Richard Epstein and flew in his plane several times. Obviously no evidence of wrong doing on his part blah blah blah and I don't think being a bad person makes everything you say wrong anyway. But I do think he has a weird blind spot around religion and Islam in particular which makes it almost impossible for him to see bad things that aren't a result of religion/Islam IYSWIM. He suffers massively from confirmation bias whilst believing himself to be rational. That becomes a problem if people fall into the group think trap of "the people I don't like do bad things, therefore doing bad things is unique to people I don't like, therefore noone I do like can do bad things. And anyone who says otherwise is hysterical or lying". That can get quite harmful. Also he has gone completely mad over AI believing the AI chat bot he talks to is intelligent and also a woman.

**Demonstrated in an open letter he wrote to a woman who had alleged she had been sexually harassed by one of his friends saying she couldn't complain because Muslims have it worse.

Reason im interested in this, theres a programme about his treatment in prison ie solidarity confinement so got me curious
