There is a lot of hate towards TR on many of these threads. Im interested to know what of his opinions etc that people are so outraged by? And please no ‘he’s a bigot’ ‘he’s a facist’ just pure and simple he says x and I think he’s wrong for y reason

Surely you don't actually believe that the motley crew of thugs and idiots who attend his marches are genuinely representative of "most regular people in the UK"?

You must have an incredibly low opinion of this country if you believe that that's true. I'm more optimistic, personally. There are thugs and idiots for sure, but i still hold on to the belief that the majority of people in this country are fundamentally decent and would want nothing to do with the likes of TR.

He creates division and hatered by deliberately twisting/ adjusting facts and by pure lies.

He's a sad racist grifter. Every single person who sends him money or supports him or attends his matches is also a racist bigot.

Perhaps you can offer your thoughts on TR's ideas and opinions @Hoops123 otherwise the thread, as already showing, will not offer any substance.

Do you think he contributed significantly to aiding recognition of racist grooming gangs? I do.

Do you believe his 'followers' are automatically racist when they attend Unite rallies? I don't. I think it's a sign that people have a right to promote their country and not be ashamed to represent it, so long as they operate within the law.

Do I find it very telling that he can't be allowed to talk at Oxford Union, same as many other right leaning speakers, without facing hostility and attempts to shut him down.

The swxual exploitation and trafficking of Eastern European women into the sex industry of Amsterdam etc follows similar patterns to the grooming gangs. The average age for recruitment of children is 14. I don't think the average British punter heading to Amsterdam on a stag weekend is thinking about that.

In all cases you have women/children from an "out group" who were deemed acceptable to abuse by the men around them. So in that sense it's racialised. The Asian grooming gangs clearly viewed the girls as open to abuse. But I don't think it's unique to them. See the examples above. Also the fact that white British authorities saw the girls as an out group as well. Plus some of the men convicted of grooming the girls had also abused family members as well. I know you want to believe there is something unique about the Asian grooming gangs. Of course they used racial/religious difference to other their victims. Canadian aid workers used the fact their child victims came from a different, eastern European country to rationalise their abuse. And on and on.

Do you think that him almost collapsing grooming gang trials is something he would do if he actually cared about the victims and wasn't just using them to line his own pockets and spread division and hatred?

Do you think he would be going to Russia regularly and taking Russian funding if he was a true British patriot?

Do you think the men who participate in the riots he supports genuinely care about women and girls when huge percentages of them have been convicted or accused of domestic abuse?

Do you think that vilifying an entire religion is appropriate rather than condemning the vile actions of the few?

Do you think a man with a string of convictions and clear cocaine addiction is a good role model or someone to admire?

I actually think a huge number of people think the same way as him. I’m a GP (in a midlands small town) so I see a spectrum of people, and politics often comes up in consultations, in the context of NHS waiting lists. I would say the vast majority attribute the country’s problems entirely to immigration.

You only have to look at the polls to see that there are lots of people who think that way, so I'm not denying that they exist. But those same polls also reflect the fact that the majority don't agree.

I think he is not to be trusted. He misrepresents who he is - trying to present himself as a man of the people when he isn’t.. I believe he is on the payroll of a lot of wealthy people while trying to present himself as working class Everyman. Even the name he changed to - he might as well have called himself Mr Worky McWorkingclass.

He lies - saying for example he was jailed for exposing Asian grooming gangs when this is not true. He was jailed for publicly lying about an already vulnerable person.

He lies and misrepresents data and has a real lack of understanding of the scriptural and cultural beliefs of Muslims.

But mostly I think he is bad for society in the same way Andrew Tate is. You can have concerns about immigration and concerns about what that means for us as a society and discuss them in a constructive way but he goes way beyond that into causing hatred and division. Interestingly I know a couple of people who have really got into this type of thing for a short while and both was when they were going through a pretty shitty time personally. Once things picked up, they moved away from it all. It was almost like having some one else to blame for their crap situation was a bit of a comfort.

Imagine any of those above statements were said about Jews, Catholics, Christians, white people? Would you be ok with them.

The number who went on his 2026 march was less than the number who on the march for the right for men to go into women's spaces whenever they want - not very many, and not a mainstream view. Human brains are evolved to cope with a village community of 200ish so when you are part of a crowd of anything more than 5000 your brain is fooled into thinking that the crowd must represent "what everyone thinks" and it feels like you are part of an enormous overwhelming crowd when it's 50,000 but other causes that are supported by around 50% of the population generate marches of 20 times that size, or more.

Take a look at the "by size" table at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_protests_in_the_United_Kingdom - The TR marches are well outnumbered and outranked by the marches supporting the opposite point of view.

I was at his march in September (I think it was) last year. It was hilarious. There was singing, dancing and lots of fun. There were all ages, from babies in pushchairs to disabled adults in wheelchairs. There were all creed and colours of people there.

From just his YouTube intro I can see he lies, breaks the law of the nation he claims to want to defend, and has a history of doing so. Why should I trust anything that he says?

@Mymyi the photos from the march don't strike me as showing a particularly diverse crowd. Not sure what the significance is of the presence of wheelchair users, they can be horrible racists too. And kids in pushchairs had no choice in the matter.

All of this is mostly true though - if a bit exaggerated.
