I'm using Wegovy to come down from a peak of BMI 27 and in 5 weeks have got it down to 25.5 so far.
I'm one of those lazy-arsed layabouts who runs half marathons, lifts weights and was trying to make wise, nutririous choices such as half my plate being salad to moderate my portion sizes, but while my appetite hadn't changed in recent years, my metabolism had. Any type of hiccup, Christmas, holiday, injury (plus 2020-21) and it creeps up and I've managed to maintain and work a little off, but not get a notable net loss.
I was reaching the point of either spending on WLI or replacing my wardrobe.
I'm short, I don't carry it well. As I was getting heavier, running was getting harder, slower and more niggly.
What Wegovy has done is dial my appetite down so I can feel comfortable on the lower calorie intake that my body needs, because it's bloody miserable trying to eat half of the rest of your family and still feel hungry and light headed. With WLI, I feel more connected with genuine physical hunger and less distracting emotional "hunger".
I haven't had to make major changes because my framework was already decent, it just manages the curveballs better.
