AIBU to think Netflix has gone downhill lately?

Is it just me or has Netflix gone right down hill? Not seen anything on there I fancy watching for months. Dont know why we bother keeping it! It’s all foreign dubbed films and crime documentaries

we always get one tv subscription at a time, so it’ll be a year or two before we end up with Netflix again and so have lots to catch up on (same with Now, Apple etc).

I tend to only have one streaming service active at any time. I usually have one for about 3 or 6 months, binge watch everything I fancy and then switch to one of the others for the same period of time. Buy the time I cycle through there's usually new stuff to watch.

How can it being international be a bad thing? Makes no sense to me.

It’s definitely got a lot of BBC and Channel 5 old programmes on it at the moment, most of which came out three years ago or something. There’s the occasional good thing every couple of weeks but it has gone downhill,

Agreed. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the odd foreign language film and have seen many good ones in my time. But it seems every other movie on there is of that genre. And I agree about the glut of crime documentaries too. It needs a shake-up and plenty of new material.

I often think “that looks good” but I switch it off if it’s subtitles or dubbed. There is a ‘new’ Lockerbie drama on there, only it’s not new; I watched it on the BBC. Yeh, disappointing

Waaaaay too many true crime documentaries. I know a lot of people like them but they churn them out constantly and it's become a bit tedious now. There also seems to be less original programming and more ITV and channel 5 dramas that were on years ago.

I suspect that means it’s generic , culturally unaware , lowest common denominator stuff

I like netfllix but i do find that once i have watched everything im interested in its ages before they add new content

I use Amazon Prime more. I've often cancelled Netflix and bought it as a one off when I want to watch something. Find myself watching films and series on You Tube more now. I've got the ad free subscription.

I'm also someone who cycles between the streaming services and I've been quite disappointed. I think I'm going to switch sooner than usual as I've had enough.

It doesn't help that I'm a bit reluctant to get into any new series because I've been burned too many times with them being cancelled.

I totally agree. The last thing i watched on netflix was deptq. I have read all the books now.

We have it but I rarely use it, the last few times I’ve looked it’s as a few pps have mentioned, loads of tv dramas that are years old - god knows why they’ve been migrated onto Netflix! Utter rubbish 😂

I resubscribed to Netflix to watch Yellowstone recently. Am I the only one who just caught get into that series?

What other subscriptions does everyone else pay for other than Netflix?

I could get it on Amazon when it first came out then had to get it from Netflix. They chop and change a lot. I fancy watching reruns of Dallas. If only Netflix showed that. You have to pay extra on Prime.

AppleTV has lots of good stuff - Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Margo’s Got Money Troubles

Amazon prime is 8.99 but you get free Amazon next day deliveries. I pay 12.99 for premium You Tube. There's lots of movies on there.

They must be easy and cheap to make.

I do like the Spanish/Italian/Turkish dramas though, they are fun. I loved the Orhan Pamuk series.

A lot of the stuff on prime you have to pay extra for though!
