To ask what year your car is?

Mine is a 2012 hatchback, I wanted something cheap, reliable, easy to run and cheap repair costs and I'm happy with what I've got. I seem to be in a friend circle with nothing older than 2020 which is tough where they all fawn over each other's car but I've made the correct choice for me. Which is yours?

2026 I'm age 40 and it's the first car I've ever had from brand new. I love it.

So car is back from the service and mot, mechanic said it’s like new. Ten years old and no way am i getting rid of it.

We've got four cars. Mine is 2015, DH has a 2015 and a 2016. DD has a 2011.

They are all in excellent condition, low mileage, no issues. We never buy new, and always with cash.

I love that the majority on here have older cars, so much better for the environment.

Yes and the low mileage is a good thing.
As soon as you start buying a newer car they want to bump the insurance up too.

2021 , so 5 years old , one more year and hopefully I’ll get a new one , usually get a good deal on brand new !

I have a 2002 Ford Focus ST. It keeps going, year after year and never gives me any problems. I do take good care of it though and it's even been in a Ford magazine, where it was described as being one of the best examples of its type and age in the country!

That's a valuable and highly desirable motor car - I hope you have the right security arrangements for your pride and joy.

Surely anyone who you call your ‘little boy’ is a child and not old enough to drive, let alone buy a car that’s a year old 🤣

2021 but, all being well, we will keep it for another 8 years or so.

I’m another of the buy a car 3-4 years old and run them into the ground - had current one 10 years done 210,000 miles and am expecting up to another 5 years before it becomes unviable
DP services and fixes so other than an MOT I’ve never had to pay a garage for any work

Mine is a 2019 Kia Rio. First owner on motability. Car was top spec and had less than 4,000 miles on the clock. It was a bargain and is a great car. Will keep it till it dies. Had last car till it was 17 and fell apart.

Mine is 2010, DH’s is 2024.

I rarely drive.

It always makes me laugh when people cry about the environment when people have multiple cars, you do realise they can only drive one car at a time. Their emissions will be the same if someone owns one car, or 4.

Or multiple family members driving multiple cars?

2016, had it since 2019. It's a good car, no need to replace it. When it does need replacing I will get a 3 year old car again most likely. I always tend to do this and keep them going until they need replacing.

Camper is 2015, bought it in 2022. No idea what I will do with that. I might have felt like I have 'done' what I wanted to do and sell it in a few years and go back to holiday cottages. But not bored of it yet, so may end up upgrading in a couple of years.

Dh is 03 plate. He loves cars and keeping this on the road is his hobby.
The lorry for my horses is 14 plate.

We absolutely cannot afford to get another car so these need to live forever 😁
