To ask what year your car is?

Mine is a 2012 hatchback, I wanted something cheap, reliable, easy to run and cheap repair costs and I'm happy with what I've got. I seem to be in a friend circle with nothing older than 2020 which is tough where they all fawn over each other's car but I've made the correct choice for me. Which is yours?

My dad has 5 cars, one of which my mum also drives

One he bought in 1987 (1974 plate) which he lovingly restored over 20 years, a 1998 plate sports car he's had for 15 years , a new project car which he's had for 8 years and is currently still in pieces, he has a 2019 plate car SUV/4x4 for towing a caravan and a small hatchback my mum also drives for day to day. He keeps promising to get rid of some of them but it never seems to happen!

2010 - hopefully will carry on for few more years. Cheap to run.

Both 2019 and both drive Jazzes. Bought outright with cash. We buy our cars at around 2 years old and then keep until their reliability becomes an issue. DHs has done more miles than mine so I expect him to change his in the next 2 years or so.

A 2001 Golf TDI. 157000 miles, but it's very fast. I love it!

2011 with 43k on the clock and not a scratch on her (she's called Olivia).

2026 but only change around 8 yrs so it's just timing that we have a new car

late 2025 (75) Mazda 2 hybrid, financed on PCP. That's one affordable way to get a newer car.

2021 Hyundai i10, love my wee car! DP has a 2017 Clio.

2011 Suzuki and I plan to drive it until it can drive no more - I reckon I can at least 5 more years out of it

2016 Yaris. It's only done 29000 miles!

1971, 1972 and 1972 again.

2017, I tend to buy them a few years old and run them into the ground.

I use Volkswagen Financial Services with the deal through LeaseLoco. 20k a year on a Skoda EV was fairly reasonable

Anything that brings someone joy is not a scam to them.

Personally, having a nice car is my motivation to get up for work. Nothing else motivates me. If I saw a car as a method to get from A to B I think I'd have tried a lot less hard in my career and paid a hell of a lot less tax

2000 Nissan Micra. Still going strong, I don't do great mileage.
