AIBU to ask what you’d do if your DH revealed he was actually an international gun for hire, and not a salesman?

I ask you to imagine this. You’ve been with your DH for about ten years. One kid. You have a great income and lifestyle; a beautiful house, nice things, lovely car. It’s primarily funded by DH’s job in international sales. It takes him away from home for weeks, sometimes longer, but the material benefits are tangible and obvious. He also tells you one day that he’ll give it up and you’ll live a comfortable life.

Then the bombshell - you find out the sales job isn’t a sales job. Your DH is actually an international assassin. He has a vague moral code - he only takes out adults, only takes out men, only takes out those he considers are criminal or immoral (in his eyes) - bad guys basically. However, he remains a gun for hire.

AIBU to ask what you’d do?

And yes, I’ve been watching Day of the Jackal.

I have watched enough Jason Statham films to know you don't just retire peacefully from that job. People are always looking for you, either for revenge or to hire you for one last job noone else can possibly do.

However if we are already married for 10 years I'm probably already in danger so I'd go with it and pretend we never had that conversation 😁

Funny I went straight to Jason Statham (😉) and thought the same. All these US assassins type films always end up with them being chased by some family member wanting revenge or the bosses wanting them offed because of what they know! My DH is good with a gun but as for getting where he was supposed to go, unless I booked it and kept reminding him the dates, times, when and where he'd be useless. Can't even find the mayo in the fridge!@@

How long do you reckon it would take him to find you in the fridge? That's what usually happens in these movies to give them a reason for killing the big baddie at the end (and getting a shag with a 22 year old in the process).

He is the most unobservant being. If I went missing, fridge or otherwise he'd struggle to answer my hair and eye colour let alone know what I was wearing. If I was hidden in a fridge the baddie would only have to put something in front of me and he'd never find me 😉
